About the Creator

Jeffery Deaver is an international number-one bestselling author. His books are sold in 150 countries and have been translated into 25 languages. He has served two terms as president of Mystery Writers of America, and was recently named a Grand Master of MWA, whose ranks include Agatha Christie, Ellery Queen, Mary Higgins Clark, and Walter Mosley.
The author of 43 novels, three collections of short stories and a nonfiction law book, and a lyricist of a country-western album, he’s received or been shortlisted for dozens of awards. When you are waiting for the next full length Colter Shaw book, you read what you can get your hands on - and these short stories fit the bill!! Typical Colter. On one job and it in just rolls into another situation - in this case a very bad situation! But because of who he is, Colter Shaw does get out of it, but luckily!! I am enjoying the short stories between the novels. They are short, intense, and very good!! You do want to listen/read if you are a Colter Shaw fan!!

Quick start that grabbed interest. It had a well developed plot and interesting turn of events that kept you listening and maintained interest through the story.

Quick but suspenseful

There was nothing that I could say that is negative about this short story. The author is very talented in story development and carried through with an interesting story involving few words.

This is a good listen. I tend to be a bit lenient with short stories because it’s so hard to get a good solid story with good characters into a tight window. I really probably should have dropped a star on it because it did introduce two stories, but only completed one, but the one that was brought to a close was well written and read. The characters were very interesting. The twist was really good and logical although a little bit of a stretch that Shaw could figure out with the limited clues.
