Publisher's summary

One hundred percent scientific and proven ways to make friends quickly, turn enemies into friends, gain trust, and be flat-out likable.

Utilize of the most interesting, shocking, and counterintuitive scientific findings to simply make people want to be around you.

The Science of Likability takes over 60 seminal scientific and psychological studies and breaks them down into real, usable guidelines and tips to create the presence you have always wanted. Every piece of advice in this book to increase your social standing and likability factor is 100 percent backed by in-depth, peer-reviewed research.

Learn how subconsciously make yourself likable, trustworthy, and intelligent.

You can get a new haircut and wardrobe, and you can even learn funny jokes. But likability is something more. It's subconscious, and it's the small signs that signal our brains to let their guards down and embrace others. Learn what common sense and intuition don't teach you. We know what to do if we want to make someone hate us - we now also know what to do to make someone like us.

Understand what makes people tick, and strategically give it to them. From Freud, to Cialdini, to Pavlov, to Schachter, to Goleman, these studies are insightful, analytical, sometimes surprising, but most importantly effective and actionable. Pair that with the insight and human intelligence factor of best-selling author and social skills coach Patrick King, and you have a guide that can be listened to equally for education as for helpful, real advice. Patrick's writing draws on a variety of sources, including scientific research, academic experience, coaching, and real-life experience.

Some topics that are included in this book are:

  • How to take advantage of people's memories for your sense of charm.
  • The power of equity in relationships and friendships.
  • A literal formula for "friendship chemistry".
  • The real way to use eye contact to build trust.
  • Why tripping and being vulnerable in front of people is positive.
  •  Universal definitions of charisma, wit, and humor - seriously. Universal.

Just like a reiteration of How to win friends

Though the author tried being different by adding studies, still he is simply reusing the legendary book. Also, I cant help but wonder about the credibility of the author. Unlike Dale Carnegie, who knew a lot of well known people and is well known himself, the author simply put studies to give proof on what he was saying. If he simply studied great people just like napoleon hill did maybe I’ll believe him but since he just add studies that anyone can do I was disappointed with this. Also the voice is robotic, I thought at first I was listening to a text to speech program. He study The Science of Likability then maybe he should have known that there are certain way of speaking that people tend to like.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Good book, matched the summary

It's a review at likability from an empirical assessment of what works. This the second Pat King book I have listened to and I found value and sound techniques in both.

Very basic onformation

Disappointed, this is little more than a summary of first year psychology class. If you have never taken college psychology, it would probably be a great book.

SHORT AND VERY VERY SWEET

- Extremely Informative
- NO Fluff, NO Drawn Out Stories
- Great alternative to the longer more prolific books that people say are more in depth and came first
(IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME choose this instead)

Enlightening and concise

The author takes you through the books content with a sense of intent. Each chapter flows ceaselessly into the next with a seemingly intangible ease for the reader.

I plan to listen at least once more to get the gems that slipped through on the first through.

AN EXCELLENT AUDIO BOOK TO TREASURE

An excellent audio book that extended my knowledge of the subject. The art and science of likeability clearly have wonderful applications in our daily lives, and in one's long term development as a person many people would value, and would like to be friends with. Well done, Patrick.

what a fucking book...

very informative and insightful, not to long not to short, perfectly packed with information short enough to re listen to grasp the content, I really enjoyed the summaries at the end of each chapter, helps re ignite the newly formed neurons.

im definitely going to be checking out and purchasing his other audiobooks.

please don't stop writing and id love to see your version of a book like, The Laws of Human Nature by Robert Greene, I know you didnt right it but to add on it with other various aspects of human nature.

really though, good shit ... thank you
