Carson

I'm the Rookie. That's how they want to label me. The new guy.

But I'm damn good at what I do. I don't have anything to prove—except maybe to him.

I've watched his career for years. So yeah, maybe I want to impress him a tiny bit. But I also can't help riling him up and ruffling his feathers.

He wants me to do things his way, but I don't work like that.

I may be the Rookie, but I'm about to school the Ace.

Brayden

I'm the Ace. I know what I'm doing, and I can't stand arrogant newbies who come in thinking they know it all.

I've always hated that. But I've never despised anyone more than Carson Hayes when he saunters in like he owns the place. The kid is good, I'll give him that. But he has a lot to learn.

I'm the Ace around here, the one everyone goes to when they finally realize they don't know it all. And the Rookie is about to learn why.

A great addition to the series. I liked this older/younger story. Tim Paige and Liam DiCosimo always do a wonderful job narrating together. they really bring life to the characters and the story.

Finishing out this series was an emotional rollercoaster! Book #3 was still was favorite of the bunch but this one was a solid finish for this series. The push and pull between these two was perfect, the reasoning behind why they were they way they were was gut wrenching. Both had some tough pasts, so it made sense why they butted heads.

I don't think I could fall for someone who was part of such death defying sports/activities, I would be so worried for crashes and this one just cemented it for me! Not spoiling too much I promise. We get to see cameos from our favorite couples from before, which was icing on the cake. I loved them having to have a bromance and they were such opposites attract and grumpy/sunshine haha. Some of my favorite tropes, which is why I enjoyed this book as well. I was sad to see this end but I am figuring out how interconnected this author's worlds are, getting the hints from this one and some newer audiobook releases, I get to meet Jenny in her beginning stages again (totally forgot where she started out before adding the racers to her list of clients!!).

Narration was good in this one too, you could feel the emotions through the headphones so easily. I thought their chemistry was great and we all were just waiting on bated breath to see when they would succumb to their chemistry and all the tension haha. I felt the hurt and pain when one revealed their past and their trauma and I felt it deep in my soul. I loved how the two and others helped get them out of a bad situation, after the real baddie showed their true colors. Loved the ending and love that we do get little glimpses of some of the crew (I just finished Veiled!!) in other spinoffs/stories :)

Great way to end this amazing series!
