Publisher's Summary

Though hailed a hero by his people, the course of life has not run smooth for the battle-weary Tungdil the dwarf. But there is no rest for this warrior yet - as he must now find the strength to face the most formidable enemy the kingdom has ever encountered....

A new evil has risen from the depths of the earth to terrorize the land of Girdlegard. Monstrous creatures - half-orc, half-älfar - are roaming the kingdom, leaving a trail of death and destruction in their wake. These merciless hybrids are on a mission to obtain the most powerful weapon known to the dwarf race - and whoever holds this weapon will control the world.

Then when the fossilized Magus Lot-Ionan is stolen, Tungdil spies total disaster on the horizon. With the very existence of the dwarves under threat, he will have to resort to his trusty double ax and risk everything he knows to save his country from annihilation....

Hold your breath for The Revenge of the Dwarves, the next thrilling installment in this spectacular fantasy epic from international best-selling author Markus Heitz.

fantastically written book just loved it! I still am a little bitter about the switch with narrators from the 1st to the to the last two books but still a fantastic book.

The dwarves series.

The one and only thing I hate about this series,is the waiting for the next book.

Jumped the Shark

I was onboard for the first two installments of this series. The third book is a bridge too far. Submarine-islands and kamikaze-bio-mechanical bad guys are the stuff of sci-fi and not fiction fantasy.

It’s fantasy, we know the arc

We know the arc of these books already, in general, but the Dwarves series is just really well done entertainment.

One of the best fantasy series there are.

One of the best fantasy series there are and should be read by all who enjoy fiction of any kind. The characterization and story telling is unique in every possible way, and just as you think you have the plot worked out the next book goes even further and breaks all the molds.

Too Many Players

I very much enjoyed the first two books. And in general, I enjoyed the third book as well. However, in my opinion, there were far too many players. With so many different groups of characters and names that are unfamiliar and sound similar, it really was a little hard to follow. I would say the last third of the book was much easier to track. I was also surprised to learn that the fourth book won't be available as an audiobook for another couple of months, while the fifth book is already available. I will definitely finish the series, but this will likely end up being my least favorite because of the complexity of the storyline.

Another wonderful performance

I enjoy this series so much because of how Neil Dickson brings the characters alive. Markus Heitz does a masterful job of bringing the Dwarves story to the front instead of them seeming like an add on to the stories of other fictional characters.

Disappointed in the ending.

Struggled to finish. unbelievable storyline. like Star Wars meets The Hobbit. The best part was setting the timer and listening as the story put me to sleep. so many different moving parts it was hard to keep it all straight so I listened selectively and muddled through it.
