Baldwin’s ability to craft the right words to make the subject understandable. His topics are as relevant today as they ever were and maybe always will be.

My favorite book

I read this in college and it stood out to me. Now 21 years later, I read it in depth and I am fascinated by Baldwin’s knowledge, insight about racism and emotional trauma.

The audiobook was over 20 hours long. I listened to every word and was sorry when it ended. Baldwin has the rare capacity to be a particpant- observer of his own life and times. His voice is authentic and his writing a rare pleasure to hear. I highly recommend this audiobook.
