Publisher's summary

The latest and most bitterly contested battle in the culture war is the controversy over Darwin and intelligent design. But much of what you've heard about it is wrong. Jonathan Wells, a battle-hardened veteran with doctorates in biology and theology, sets the record straight.

In clear, non-technical language, he explains who is fighting whom, the root of the conflict, and the evidence for and against Darwinism and intelligent design. He also explains what is ultimately at stake for liberals and conservatives, Christians and non-Christians, educators, policymakers, and scientists.

Solid Cases Against Evolution

This book basically explains why evolutionists give this book 1 star. Dr. Wells shows that the best scientific evidence, far from supporting Darwinism, actually supports intelligent design. The theory of evolution is fundamentally and fatally flawed even scandalously exaggerated and anyone wanting to have a serious debate is silenced, so says Dr. Wells.

Narration is adequate, information is very good and has plenty of citations to back it.

Excellent...but with a couple minor issues

In-depth exploration of evolutionary science through the lenses of Darwinism and ID, as well as the political circus surrounding them. Some early chapters include scientific jargon that may be off-putting for many readers, even those well-versed in biological fields. Also, there are a few instances of poor editing of the narration (narration itself is great!). But, power through these issues to get the real facts about evolution in this well-written book!

You need to read this

A great explanation of the difference between Darwinism, Evolution, Intelligent Design, and Creationism. It allows the reader to understand that there is a difference, that none of the theories have been proven, and that there is far from any kind of universal acceptance by scientists, despite what is frequently taught in schools or proclaimed in popular culture.

Good Summary of the Issues

This book was very interesting and it summarized many of the pertinent issues. I have read many other books and articles on this topic, therefore, I am aware of the nuances concerning important points that the author did not have time to cover in detail. A reader new to the subject may miss these points. Before reading this book, I would recommend "The Edge of Evolution" By Micheal Behe.

informative

Opened my eyes to a whole new perspective to the world and the corruption via our schools and children.

The book is excellent and the reviews prove the authors point

First a statement of transparency:
1- I’m a Christian and believe that God created the heavens and the earth.
2- I’m an engineer and researcher who likes to know how things work and am always looking for the mechanisms and processes behind things.
3- For m, based on my 73 years (to date) of questioning and searching for understanding of how it all came about and looking at the vast and amazing amount of data accumulated by science, I’ve concluded that it is impossible, and I do mean impossible, for our amazing existence to have just happened. For me it have become obvious that there is purpose and plane behind our existence. Which means there is a design involved which can only exist if there is an intelligence driving the design.
4- This topic is politically incorrect for many and some of the reviews prove that very concept.

Now to why this book has value for me.
For some one who is questioning about Darwin’s theory’s and is open to discovering if there might be an alternative, this book can give a foundation for discovery far better than I can explain. It is filled with provocative questions and referenced data that can help an open minded individual decide one way or an other.

Do pay attention and look at the data, it is compelling, and a whole lot of fun to contemplate.

Religion isn’t just for the spiritual

The followers of Darwinism, communism, and fascism all show that you don’t need to be spiritually minded to to be religious in your belief.

Outstanding Summary

It won’t be long before any scientist who refuses to acknowledge intelligent design will have a seat at the table with the adults. That will not be because the intelligent design folks restrict them, but because the neo Darwinists will refuse to sit there.

For anyone who wants a fairly complete introduction into intelligent design, this book and audio will do it for them! This may be the most complete introduction I have seen in my three years of researching this topic.
