Acerca de esta escucha
Liberals scoff when conservatives denounce Obama and his policies as socialist. After all, they argue, Obama isn’t Stalin and America is nothing like the Soviet Union. But socialism doesn’t always resemble the Berlin Wall or the Iron Curtain, as National Review editor Kevin Williamson proves in his new book, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Socialism.
In this new P.I. Guide, Williamson reveals the truth: despite what the liberal politicians and leftist pundits would have you believe, the policies coming out of Washington today are nothing more than socialism disguised as equality and justice for all. Tracing socialism back to its roots, Williamson defines this misunderstood ideology, explains the different forms socialism takes on, and shows how it is thriving right here in the United States in the form of “Obamacare”, financial regulations, and more. Offering conservatives the political and rhetorical ammunition they need to combat the liberal lies about one of the most misunderstood ideologies in modern history, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Socialism reveals why everything socialism purports to do, the free market does better.

Guaranteed to give the listener a deeper understanding of America’s most powerful judicial body, John Yoo, professor of law at UC Berkeley, and Robert Delahunty, professor of law at the University of St. Thomas, detail in sprightly, slightly irreverent manner how the black-robed judges who make up the U.S. Supreme Court have swung like a pendulum from saviors of the Republic to super-legislators who usurp the roll of Congress and dictate law from the bench, back to defenders of the Constitution again—or at least for the moment.

In American Marxism, Mark Levin explained how Marxist ideology has invaded our society and culture. In doing so, he exposed the institutions, scholars, and activists leading the revolution. Now, he picks up where he left off: to hold responsible the true malefactors steering our country down the wrong path. Insightful and hard-hitting as ever, Levin proves that since its establishment, the Democrat Party has set out to rewrite history and destroy the foundation of freedom in America.

Historia
The quest for social justice is a powerful crusade of our time, with an appeal to many different people, for many different reasons. But those who use the same words do not always present the same meanings. Clarifying those meanings is the first step toward finding out what we agree on and disagree on. From there, it is largely a question of what the facts are. Social Justice Fallacies reveals how many things that are thought to be true simply cannot stand up to documented facts, which are often the opposite of what is widely believed.

Historia
The Vision of the Anointed is a devastating critique of the mindset behind the failed social policies of the past thirty years. Thomas Sowell sees what has happened not as a series of isolated mistakes, but as a logical consequence of a vision whose defects have led to disasters in education, crime, family disintegration, and other social pathology. In this book, "politically correct" theory is repeatedly confronted with facts-and sharp contradictions between the two are explained in terms of a whole set of self-congratulatory assumptions held by political and intellectual elites.

Education is in bad shape in America and beyond today. It’s obvious. Everyone perceives it. Something is going badly wrong in our schools. Our children aren’t learning as they should be. Their mastery of core academic curriculum like reading, writing, history, mathematics, science, and civics has declined to crisis levels and shows no signs of improvement. Meanwhile, they’re all learning to be activists, turning their backs on their nations, societies, and even their parents and religions.

As a young man, Vince Ellison began his career in the belly of the beast—as a prison guard working in the worst cellblock imaginable. And it was to his dismay and sadness that he has seen that same evil later in life. This time, not in the faces of incarcerated criminals, but rather in the eyes of the leaders of the Democratic party. In this persuasive work, Vince marshals his own experience and couples it with a learned and original analysis to conclude that the leaders of America's "progressive" party aren't just wrong on their policy stances—they are deliberately destructive.

From the best-selling authors of The Right Nation, a visionary argument that our current crisis in government is nothing less than the fourth radical transition in the history of the nation-state. Dysfunctional government: It' s become a cliché, and most of us are resigned to the fact that nothing is ever going to change. As John Micklethwait and Adrian Wooldridge show us, that is a seriously limited view of things. In fact, there have been three great revolutions in government in the history of the modern world.

You think you know about Christianity, but did you know: God likes "organized religion" - it's clear from both the New and Old Testaments; Christians have always believed that men and women are equal; the correct pronoun for angels is "he"; science was stillborn everywhere outside the Christian West; Christianity, which first taught the world to value victims, is now the victim of a victimhood culture; and more.

Author and Professor Brion McClanahan shows how patriots like Franklin, Madison, and Hamilton laid the foundations of American civil liberty and had a better understanding of the problems facing us today than our current Congress.

Less freedom. More regulation. Higher costs. Make no mistake: those are the surefire consequences of the modern global warming campaign waged by political and cultural elites, who have long ago abandoned fact-based science for dramatic fearmongering in order to push increased central planning. The Politically Incorrect Guide to Climate Change gives a voice - backed by statistics, real-life stories, and incontrovertible evidence - to the millions of "deplorable" Americans skeptical about the multibillion dollar "climate change" complex, whose claims have time and time again been proven wrong.

Participating in the economy is a part of everyday life; yet much of what is commonly accepted as fact is wrong. Keynesian schoolteachers and the liberal media have filled the world with politically correct errors that myth-busting professor Robert Murphy sets straight. Murphy explains hot topics like outsourcing (why it's good for Americans) and zoning restrictions (why they're not). Just like the other books in the P.I.G. series, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Capitalism pulls no punches.

Historia
Academics, journalists, and popular historians agree: our greatest presidents are the ones who confronted a national crisis and mobilized the entire nation to face it. That’s the conventional wisdom. The chief executives who are celebrated in textbooks and placed in the top echelon of presidents in surveys of experts are the bold leaders - the Woodrow Wilsons and Franklin Roosevelts - who reshaped the United States in line with their grand “vision” for America. Unfortunately, along the way, these “great” presidents inevitably expanded government - and shrank our liberties.

We've been duped. We were raised to think we could have it all. In college we were told that men weren't necessary. Pop culture told us that career, not family, came first. The idea of being a stay-at-home mom was for losers. And yet are we happier than our mothers or grandmothers, who grew up before women were "liberated" by the sexual revolution? For many women, the answer is no.

Phenomenal
A great coverage of the fascistic (regulation-controlled) American industries and an explanation of the necessity of prices for prosperity and rational planning of the life of the individual. Essential reading.

A solid work of scholarship
Anyone whose read von Mises socialism book will really appreciate this book as the von Mises book only contained examples current with 1950s world socialist analysis. This book has examples more recent which is very helpful. I could see this as the the same critique of socialism 1900 - 2010 where von Mises is 1850 - 1950 great stuff! There is no republican bias in this book either which I love nothing worse than a book like this that are just democrats or republicans getting on the pulpit and running party propaganda as facts. This book does not commit that intellectual sin.

Books that aged well.
It’s almost better that that book was written over a decade ago, because it outlined the collapse of our country to socialist policies like prophecy. Great listen. Hopefully we can fix it.

flipping great!
I've been really perplexed by socialism and this really helps put my thoughts into words. I'm still learning and I'm going to keep understanding why people get tricked into socialism. Bravo on the wonderful performance, with the very engaging literature given, worth it. ( will listen again)

Everything about this is great and eye-opening
I knew very little about Socialism going into this book, and thought it was very informative. in America, you get the idea that Socialist are these little heroes who defy the big bad capitalists but the book takes a sober look at how socialist schemes have ruined the environment worse than any BP oil spill or similar catastrophe. To balance, I think it is fair to also read the politically incorrect guide to capitalism so as to hear both sides and make a fair opinion. Socialism is not completely evil, nor is capitalism. The truth lies somewhere between the two, I feel.
