Acerca de esta escucha
The New York Times best-selling author of Darwin’s Doubt presents groundbreaking scientific evidence of the existence of God, based on breakthroughs in physics, cosmology, and biology.
Beginning in the late 19th century, many intellectuals began to insist that scientific knowledge conflicts with traditional theistic belief - that science and belief in God are “at war”. Philosopher of science Stephen Meyer challenges this view by examining three scientific discoveries with decidedly theistic implications. Building on the case for the intelligent design of life that he developed in Signature in the Cell and Darwin’s Doubt, Meyer demonstrates how discoveries in cosmology and physics coupled with those in biology help to establish the identity of the designing intelligence behind life and the universe.
Meyer argues that theism - with its affirmation of a transcendent, intelligent and active creator - best explains the evidence we have concerning biological and cosmological origins. Previously Meyer refrained from attempting to answer questions about “who” might have designed life. Now he provides an evidence-based answer to perhaps the ultimate mystery of the universe. In so doing, he reveals a stunning conclusion: the data support not just the existence of an intelligent designer of some kind - but the existence of a personal God.

When Charles Darwin finished The Origin of Species, he thought that he had explained every clue but one. Though his theory could explain many facts, Darwin knew that there was a significant event in the history of life that his theory did not explain. During this event, the "Cambrian explosion", many animals suddenly appeared in the fossil record without apparent ancestors in earlier layers of rock. In Darwin's Doubt, Stephen C. Meyer tells the story of the mystery surrounding this explosion of animal life.

An inspiring new perspective on the science versus religion debate. Can science explain everything? Many people think so. Science, and the technologies it has spawned, has delivered so much to the world: Clean water; more food; better healthcare; longer life. And we live in a time of rapid scientific progress that holds enormous promise for many of the problems we face as humankind. So much so, in fact, that many see no need or use for religion and belief systems that offer us answers to the mysteries of our universe. Science has explained it, they assume. Religion is redundant.

The modern apologetics classic that started it all is now completely revised and updated - because the truth of the Bible doesn't change, but its critics do. With the original Evidence That Demands a Verdict, best-selling author Josh McDowell gave Christian audiences the answers they needed to defend their faith against the harshest critics and skeptics. Now, with his son Sean McDowell, Josh McDowell has updated and expanded this classic resource for a new generation. This is a book that invites listeners to bring their doubts.

To some, the concept of having faith in a higher power or a set of religious beliefs is nonsensical. Indeed, many view religion in general, and Christianity in particular, as unfounded and unreasonable. 6Norman Geisler and Frank Turek argue, however, that Christianity is not only more reasonable than all other belief systems, but is indeed more rational than unbelief itself. With conviction and clear thinking, Geisler and Turek guide listeners through some of the traditional, tested arguments for the existence of a creator God.

Science definitely gives faith a boost as new findings emerge about the complexity of our universe. Strobel re-examines the theories that once led him away from God. You'll encounter discoveries from cosmology, DNA research, and human consciousness that present evidence in The Case for a Creator.

Historia
If we are to believe many modern commentators, science has squeezed God into a corner, killed and then buried him with its all-embracing explanations. Atheism, we are told, is the only intellectually tenable position, and any attempt to reintroduce God is likely to impede the progress of science. In this audiobook, John Lennox invites us to consider such claims very carefully. Is it really true, he asks, that everything in science points towards atheism? Has science buried God? God's Undertaker is an invaluable contribution to the debate about science's relationship to religion.

These authors are merely the leading edge of a larger movement that includes much of the scientific community. In response, mathematician David Berlinski, himself a secular Jew, delivers a biting defense of religious thought.

These authors are merely the leading edge of a larger movement that includes much of the scientific community. In response, mathematician David Berlinski, himself a secular Jew, delivers a biting defense of religious thought.

Naming Darwin's Black Box to the National Review's list of the 100 most important nonfiction works of the 20th century, George Gilder wrote that it "overthrows Darwin at the end of the 20th century in the same way that quantum theory overthrew Newton at the beginning". Discussing the book in the New Yorker in May 2005, H. Allen Orr said of Behe, "He is the most prominent of the small circle of scientists working on intelligent design, and his arguments are by far the best known."

Is Atheism Dead? is an entertaining, impressively wide-ranging, and decidedly provocative answer to that famous 1966 Time cover that itself provocatively asked “Is God Dead?” In a voice that is by turns witty, muscular, and poetic, Metaxas intentionally echoes C. S. Lewis and G. K. Chesterton in cheerfully and logically making his astonishing case, along the way presenting breathtaking - and often withering - new evidence and arguments against the idea of a Creatorless universe.

The explanations of transcendent phenomena given by saints, sages, and near-death experiencers—miracles, immortality, heaven, God, and transcendent awareness—are fully congruent with scientific discoveries in the fields of relativity, quantum physics, medicine, M-theory, neuroscience, and quantum biology. The Physics of God describes the intersections of science and religion with colorful, easy-to-understand metaphors, making abstruse subjects within both science and religion easily accessible to the layman—no math, no dogma.

Daniel's story is one of extraordinary faith in God lived out at the pinnacle of executive power. It tells of four teenage friends, born in the tiny state of Judah about 26 centuries ago, but captured by Nebuchadnezzar, emperor of Babylon. Daniel describes how they eventually rose to the top echelons of administration. Daniel and his friends did not simply maintain their private devotion to God; they maintained a high-profile witness in a pluralistic society antagonistic to their faith.

What is the most absurd myth of our culture? Are we really the result of a series of cosmic accidents? Can we explain the origin of design information in our DNA? Darwinists cannot explain; they can only assert. Darwinists cannot account for the origin of information. In this briefing pack, Dr. Stephen Meyer joins Chuck Missler in reviewing some of the revealing insights from microbiology and the information sciences on the evidences of design in the origin of life and their implications for our destiny.

Historia
Throughout his distinguished and unconventional career, engineer-turned-molecular-biologist Douglas Axe has been asking the questions that much of the scientific community would rather silence. Now, he presents his conclusions in this brave and pioneering book. Axe argues that the key to understanding our origin is the "design intuition" - the innate belief held by all humans that tasks we would need knowledge to accomplish can be accomplished only by someone who has that knowledge.

Interesting history of science and arguments
Good: Had some interesting history of science and a new perspective on the science vs religion question. The scientific arguments are also quite fascinating.
Bad: really repetitive and needlessly long. Could probably be summarised in a 5th of its size.

All encompassing and inspiring
Stephen describes and defines some very difficult issues in terms his readers can understand. He does not proselytize, but presents the facts as they are. His personal experiences show humility and his interpretations have inspired me in my own heart and mind. I hope this book is not too late in coming. God’s blessings on Stephen and his associates. This book was presented to me as a source of knowledge by Frank Turek on Cross Examined radio program.

I very much enjoyed the book. At times the equations were difficult to follow. The general principles and specifics to authenticate informative, thoughtful. Would highly recommend to both skeptic and the believer.

How first life came about is significant
It has come to me to recognize when the scientist has stepped out of their field of expertise, and entered into the field of philosophy. We all come to this topic with a worldview, and to admit that going in aids in our recognition of when it seems to support or answer a given question, even keep us away from a given conclusion. It seems that all sides need exploration, and to neglect one is to neglect an important aspect which could add to our understanding of ourselves and the cosmos as a whole.

ehhhh
I did not know I wrote a long review before. I wanted to write a shorter one now just stating I wish I could find a book or something on a expert on this fine tuning and over all evidence of a creator or creators that did not get mixed in with christianity or the bible... it makes me so frustrated how the church or religious believers hi jacked the evidence for design by science and used it to promote their man made religon backed by a book of great moral and useful life stories...the idea of right and wrong as we see it in the west is based of christianity.... but I want this idea and this evidence to be a clean slate of " god " not any old idea of god...whenever I bring up how I believe based on the evidence and just the odds of humans being what we are and as smart as we are among all the other evidence I believe logically points to some kind or creator but then it automatically scares off the modern person because they in no way believe you wont try to throw in religion.... I'm not religous ... I believe religion has helped many and also believe because of man and his interpretations many have also been killed and or worse over religion and ideas.... the new modern religions where its been pushed as a peaceful all loving of all peoples is a lot better then the older ones where you could beat your wife and kids and go to war.....now they had to change because they really looked bad and would lose more members then they have if they stayed hating gays and other strict codes..... I believe the Koran is pretty open and specific about killing others though which is hard to re interpret to a more modern peaceful outlook....the bible is wrote in a way that you can make many stories mean many things...but you have to and they have picked it apart to fit their own beliefs which is why there is like 20,000 different types or branches of christianity.....so anyway it makes me.mad I can not have a logical convo and have people hear me and consider what I know and say about how science has shown some pretty hard to explain things on how reality works.... that it logically points to something that was made and or built on purpose....but we do not know by who and need to obviously try to figure out and only way that will happen is some kind of contact and or they come back to us because I believe that they do stop by and I do not think they are gods but just super smart and evolved creatures maybe even humans at one point 1 billion years ago...I mean with dna mods and ai... you cant tell me humans will not make ourselves way better or try to and in 500 years if we arent dead I'm sure we will have figured out and understand how to modify our babies before they are born where we integrate the web into ourselves where all the info out there you could access instantly... I cant even imagine what it will be like..I just hope we understand what we do and we do not make changes to where we stop evolving with nature and then a virus forms that's kills us all because we modified ourselves and what would of been a natural defense evolution to new viruses we taper with out dna and stuff and nature slaps us in the face... anyway... yea I mean the creator could be a super advanced race which I think is more likely... also the idea of other dimensions is very wild and if we find this out and learn how to travel and explore space with some unknown tech or to bend space and we travel and seek intelligence it will be scary.... hopefully peaceful...creators do tend to do what they want to their creations... I even thought god is humans evolved I like that idea.. and we figure out time travel in some sort of ways... and they make small changes today to make the future much better...I do think it is odd the for 100k years we were living relatively the same and then bam like electricity hits and in 60 years were on the moon.... it's very fast and compared to our history seems a lil odd....this did not happen sooner. who knows... also maybe science will find and then mix with some sort of what we would call metaphysics or spirituality has some truths science finds... the power of the mind such as how placebos work
update: i found a funny funny part...you have to litsen close it happens fast.. chapter 8- the fin tuning-by design? at 29:57 or so, another voice pops in lol like Russian or something... made me rewind like wth lol...............
well I have read and listened to many books on this stuff...and it's the same old same old...with chapters of reviews and einstein reviews, of the same stories I have heard 10000 times I skipped to about chapter 6...wanting to just get to the meat of the evidence or his theories and how he words and defends it... I'm not finished yet because I had to comment on this chapter I'm not sure which one maybe 7 or 8 or 9.... but if I hear him say any more numbers followed by power...example such and such was rated at 10 to the 20th 17th power when it should of been 16 of the 19th 42nd power and the power of the logos to the fine tuning of the 16th power is only 20s of 16th power divided by the power of the people and there for its 50 4ths of the power of 0 to the power of power power power...jesus... I want to shot myself
..he lost me and I'm sure lost many that's to.kucj verbal math to even work out along with him..should of skipped it or got to the main point and had a illustration available to show....so far ok... nothing crazy new and no like ah ha.moment but I've had very few of those in my research and reading books...most just say things and your left in the same boat or more confused about the fine tuning... personally I think it's crazy people think that saying this all was created is crazy.... I mean the chances of just everything happening to create us to have everything perfect to create planets and then stars to heat them at the right distance and rotation to carbon, helium, h20, oxygen all created.... to have the right times of evolution and I can go on and on...way to many things happened to be chance it's hard to believe...and I'm no way religous...i think religon was needed back in the days because humans needed something and had to believe something there was no science.... but I also think they were smart and more in touch with themselves and the world and universe then we are today by far...they stopped and observed and wondered and studied... now we just work work work..have kids maybe .. work some more and die fitting in a few documentaries over the years.. and then you also have the quantum realm which just does nothing or has no laws like we know to be true.... the fact there are rules and laws even sets to a creator or something like a creator... I do not believe there was just a bang and then bam laws...rules....beauty....death...birth...math...ect..
