Named one of the top books of 2009 by the Times Literary Supplement (London), this controversial and compelling audiobook from Dr. Stephen C. Meyer presents a convincing new case for intelligent design (ID) based on revolutionary discoveries in science and DNA. Along the way Meyer argues that Charles Darwin's theory of evolution as expounded in The Origin of Species did not, in fact, refute ID.

If you enjoyed Francis Collins' The Language of God, you'll find much to ponder - about evolution, DNA, and intelligent design - in Signature in the Cell.

Stephen Meyer does an excellent job presenting his case for why Intelligent Design Theory, in his opinion, presents the best case for the design apparently present in living things. He does a fair job of presenting both sides of the argument (methodological naturalism or neo-darwinian evolution VS ID) and why he feels ID is the best theory based upon evidence available. He addresses issues which are brought against ID being a scientific theory and refutes them well.

The book is a scientific book written for folks without a scientific bent (I think it tends to be more scientific/technical than the average reader) and is also a long presentation.

No matter which side of the discussion/debate you fall on, this is enlightening and well worth the read.

A good read for anyone with a scientific bent

Very thorough and thought provoking refutation of the Chance Hypothesis that is posited by Neo Darwinist/ Naturalism adherents.

Naturalists cannot overcome the DNA Enigma.

This is a mind blowing book. I'm not a scientist, but I was able to follow the complexity of Meyer's thought process.

Wow!

Signature in the Cell is a great book. I liked the tone and the interesting information. Sometimes it was over my head. Despite that, I think I understand the essential things the book was trying to say. I had the Audible version, and I liked the reader of the text. He was easy to understand and spoke at a nice pace.

A Great Book

This book will get you thinking. Challenge your "beliefs" and set in your mind that Science is never settled, and neither is history. I encourage all that are interested in the natural sciences as well as genetics to dive in. You will not be sorry.

Thought Provoking. Challenging.

Not going to like “some” of this went over my head, barley any ha. So thankful that people like you are doing work like this and can quantify it so succinctly! Thank you for your work!

So good!

I believe this book is the most important written in the last thousand years. Beautifully read by Derek Shetterly. Dr. Meyer makes a remarkable, tremendous, exciting and excruciatingly thorough argument, scientifically and mathematically, to usurp Darwin from the crown of evolutionary understanding and re-introduce our Fine Designer. The logic of Dr. Meyer’s argument is driven by our present day exceptional understanding of molecular biology, of what life truly is at the nano-level and what it takes to have something “alive”. We can truly appreciate life only when we read or hear details like those provided in “Signature in the Cell”. While Dr. Meyer is completely prepared to run his critics over with a proverbial “Mack truck”, he goes through pains, at an almost fantastical level of thoroughness, to cover and examine his critics arguments in extraordinary detail. Indeed, this book is as much the examination and dissection of opposing positions to ID as it is his elaborate, exceptional argument. It is wonderfully written. If you enjoy an exciting detective novel, a mystery novel, a history lesson, with the marvel of life‘s complexity all enveloped within and a conclusion delivering your own spiritual renewal, then please, download, and buckle up. It’s no overstatement to make: This book will one day prove to have brought a new, lasting, long sought after light in an up-til-now darkened tunnel, and a fresh hope for the revival of humanity’s relationship with The Divine.

The Thousand Year Book

This material must be taken in by every person interested in origin science and every scientist researching the cure of any disease. It is the key to freeing the mind from 150 year old false assumptions about origins that have retarded the human race's ability to progress.

phenomenal!

Prior to the discovery of germ theory in the late 19th century, there could be no understanding of how diseases were caused or cured.

Prior to the discovery of DNA and its encoded information, there could be no understanding of how the origin of life occurred. Were Darwin alive today, I believe he would not have postulated "chance alone" as a mechanism for life due to the complexity of DNA.

I was in search of a modern review of Darwinism in light of the recent discoveries in genomics and Steven Meyer provided the scientific and philosophical approach I was looking for. His work was very up-to-date and relevant to answering the question of Intelligent Design's role in the formation of life.

Darwinism in light of the human genome project

This is an exhaustive historical dissertation on comparative hypotheses. I do believe that the case is made, from beginning to end,
that there should be room to consider design as an option in the origins of life in the universe.
If one were to utilize probabilities alone in looking at rational conclusions, I believe that it is only a philosophical roadblock that would keep someone from determining that design should be able to have a seat at the table along with other scientific hypotheses around the origins of life itself. The author does a very thorough job at building a case and helping to formulate reasonable thoughts around the subject.
