Humanity has been torn asunder and brought to the edge of total annihilation in less than an hour. For those who died, it was a quick death, so fast that their brains didn't have time to process the pain signals from their nerves. Publisher's Summary
The complete series as one 32-hour omnibus edition.
A century ago, the world fell - but the war never ended.
Now, the survivors of the apocalypse are reunited, and a new fight begins.
A century after the war that destroyed the planet, the UEC and GPS remain locked in a generational conflict. Split between a vast orbital space station and a base on the moon, neither faction can return to the scorched and irradiated planet.
But for UEC officers Captain Maria "Sal" Salus and Commander Chris Kurren, there is no longer a choice. They either return planetside or face annihilation.
The planet contains dangers that Sal and Kurren could not have imagined in their fiercest nightmares. If the radiation doesn’t kill them, the savagely mutated survivors of the fall, known as the Maddened, will.
However, not everyone on the planet died - or succumbed. To save their people and finally put an end to the war, Sal and Kurren must find a Planetsider.
Ignorant of the war that ravaged their world, the Planetsiders are immune. Amongst them is the idealistic ranger Ethan. Burning with a desire to understand his planet’s dark past, Ethan chooses to fight with Sal and Kurren and put an end to the war.
Their perilous adventure pits them against untold dangers, both planetside and in space. In the end, secrets are revealed, betrayals are exposed, and old conflicts breed new alliances.
The war will finally end, but a new war for their future will begin.
An edge-of-your-seat blend of military SF action and classic apocalyptic science fiction. Perfect for fans of Resident Evil, The Maze Runner, I Am Legend, and classic apocalyptic sci-fi.

Interesting mix of apocalyptic and sci-fi
This is the first to third book I have read/listened to by this author and I am glad I was able to listen to all three books at once. Each book nicely wraps up a segment of the overall story but leaves an opening into the next. We get to see the story from the perspective of many of the the planetsiders as well as the people on the moon base and space station. I really like the mix of Sci-fi and the apocalyptic event. The radiation on the planet mutates people and they become very aggressive and cannibalistic, similar to but also different from the typical concept of zombies. I would listen to this series again. It’s quite enjoyable. This is the first to third book I have listened to by this narrator ( J.S. Arquin ). His style is definitely as one reading the story, but he still manages to bring out the personalities of the characters. His character voices are not overly distinct, but are mostly distinguishable. His female voices are ok. It is a very pleasant listen and his narration did not detract from the story. There are no explicit sex scenes, or excessive violence, I don’t really recall any swearing. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this unbiased review. Please feel free to comment on whether you found my review helpful.

Science Fiction & Dystopic
GJ Ogden has combined the elements of both science fiction and dystopian genres in this trilogy. Each book is filled with edge of your seat action and twists and turns the reader doesn't see coming. I enjoyed the audiobook so much that I had to purchase a Kindle copy of the trilogy. J. S. Arquin does a great job with the narration by giving each character a distinct voice. This makes each character seem more real and that adds to the enjoyment of the story. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

Overall, a good series
This wasn't a perfect series, but I did like it and would recommend it if you're in to the post-apocalyptic genre. While it dragged a little in places, I liked most of the characters and felt they were believable. My only real complaint in that area is that one of the main characters that you were supposed to ultimately root for was very unlikable and I mostly found myself wishing that a Maddened would take her out to simplify Ethan's life. But that might just be me. The narration was also good and earned a solid four stars. I received this as a review copy in exchange for an honest review.

Narrator is the downfall for me.
I know everyone can't be RC Bray, but the narration in this book was just not to my liking. At one point i was happy someone died because the voice the narrator gave them annoyed the hell out of me, I've never had that in any other book I've listened to. Imo it seemed like the narrator really did not want to read this book.

A Thoroughly Enjoyable Refreshing Story
I was given this free review copy audio-book at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This review is for the audio copy of The Planetsider Trilogy - A Post Apocalyptic Science Fiction Boxed Set by GJ Ogden and narrated by J.S. Arquin. This series was an exceptional find for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline where apocalypse meets science fiction. I had no idea what to expect and was instantly engaged and listening to it every free moment I had. This is a book that I will listen to again; it was that good in my opinion. The narration was perfect with the story coming alive in my mind. I highly recommend this boxed set.

Awesome concept
The entire trilogy was based on a very original concept(at least to me). The characters were and development of the story was very good. The pace was quick and not a lot of unnecessary words just to fill pages like some others. I did think some of the interactions were border line childlike and the time frames for the story development was a bit unbelievable. The narrator was good and well spoken although one of his character voices sounded a lot like Cartman from South Park. Thanks for the opportunity to review this book that I received at my request for a completely unbiased review.

"Temper, temper, Red Hair"
A collection of the three books comprising the Planetsider Trilogy: Planetsider, The Second Call (chapter 32) and The Last of the Firsts (chapter 72).. Together the form both a post apocalyptic and an apocalyptic tale, but one still with hope. Unusual and well written stories with fully developed characters - Perhaps too much so as I took such a dislike to one of the central (goodie) players that I have been forced to downgrade the star rating to four. Narration by J.S.Arquin was superb. With fully individual and appropriate voicings for every protagonist, be their part large or small, he also captured their emotions, despair, temper tantrums, wonder and love, and the text reading between speech was beautifully paced, we!l cadenced and delightfully easy on the ear. An outstanding performance and one which helped carry this reader pleasurable through from the immediately captivating start to the conclusion over 32 hours later. I was extremely fortunate in being freely gifted with a complimentary copy of The Planetsider Trilogy, at my request, by the rights holder via Audiobook Boom. Thank you so much. I very much enjoyed being transported to another, albeit devastated, world to spend time with the inhabitants of Forest Gate Settlement, and Ethan, in particular and accompany both him and Maria, together with their various companions, on their turbulent and emotional journeys of hope, love, betrayal, fear and fighting. At times thought provoking, always edgy, yet simple, I commend this trilogy to all who enjoy military action thrillers, science fiction or are simply interested in people interacting with each other.
