Acerca de esta escucha
To recover from a cataclysmic war, the Harvest was created to pass blood to those affected by radiation. But this charitable act has led to a society segregated entirely by blood type. Patriot thanks and rewards your generous gift based on the compatibility of your donation, meaning that whoever can give to the most, gets the most back. While working as a reaper for the draw, Willa chances upon an idea to resurrect an obsolete collection technique that could rebalance the city. But in her quest to put this in motion, she instead uncovers a secret that threatens her entire foundations....

Knowledge can get you killed. Especially if you have no idea what it means. Ben is not a genius, but he can spout facts about animals and wristwatches with the best of experts. He just can't explain how he knows any of it. He also knows about the Chime. What it is or why it's important he couldn't say. But this knowledge is about to get him in a whole heap of trouble. After he and his best friend Patton are abducted by a trash-talking, flesh-construct alien bounty hunter, Ben finds out just how much he is worth...and how dangerous he can be.

A simple DNA test is all it takes. Just a quick mouth swab, and soon, you'll be matched with your perfect partner - the one you're genetically made for. That's the promise made by Match Your DNA. A decade ago, the company announced that they had found the gene that pairs each of us with our soul mate. Since then, millions of people around the world have been matched. Who hasn’t wondered for a split second what the world would be like if a person who is the object of your affliction ceased to exist? But then you’ve probably never heard of The McMasters Conservatory, dedicated to the consummate execution of the homicidal arts. To gain admission, a student must have an ethical reason for erasing someone who deeply deserves a fate no worse (nor better) than death. The campus of this “Poison Ivy League” college—its location unknown to even those who study there—is where you might find yourself the practice target of a classmate.

Everyone has a story to tell. But does Janice have the power to unlock her own? She can’t recall what started her collection. Maybe it was in a fragment of conversation overheard as she cleaned a sink? Before long (as she dusted a sitting room or defrosted a fridge) she noticed people were telling her their stories. Perhaps they had always done so, but now it is different, now the stories are reaching out to her and she gathers them to her.

Travis Wren has an unusual talent for locating missing people. Often hired by families as a last resort, he takes on the case of Maggie St. James—a well-known author of dark, macabre children’s books—and is soon led to a place many believed to be only a legend. Called Pastoral, this reclusive community was founded in the 1970s by like-minded people searching for a simpler way of life. By all accounts, the commune shouldn’t exist anymore and soon after Travis stumbles upon it…he disappears. Just like Maggie St. James.

Historia
A thrilling new adventure featuring literature’s favourite detective like you’ve never seen him before. The first in a series, Clockwork Sherlock follows ex-soldier Captain Jo Barnes. The mysterious VR detective singles her out as his own Dr Watson, but he’s about to find out she’s no fawning sidekick. When tech giant Robert Fairfield is found dead of a suspected drug overdose, fingers are pointed at the two women who stood most to gain from his death: his fiancée and leader of the New Ludds, Greta Blackstone, and Beth Fairchild, Robert’s ambitious daughter.

The writing is stellar. The reader is excellent.
This dystopian novel keeps you guessing. The characters are well-drawn, with clear and individual voices. These are people we come to care a great deal about. Especially appealing, too, is that the heroines are not the usual young single white males, or young single white females. Refreshing, indeed. The language is spot on—with frequent smiles elicited by the remarks of a few of the characters, and of one character in particular. I would quote, but that would be ruin the moments. The narration is beyond excellent. Each character is clearly delineated! I am not a regular reader of Sci Fi fantasy. Suffice to say, this book transcends it genre. It so needs to be adapted to the big screen!

True Phleb
I honestly feel like “The Phlebotomist” was written for me. I truly enjoyed the start of every chapter. Anyone in the Medical field or that knows Medical Terminology is gonna get an extra kick out of it for sure. Not only is this book written well, the audio artist truly brought the book to life. Bringing to life the wonderful characters the author wrote. Willa and Lock are 🫀Heart. Bringing to life a Future that combines so many fandoms. My only warning is you’ll get hocked. I want more of this universe.

Good but not great
Solid 3 stars from me. It was just kind of fine which is a little disappointing because the first 1/3 of it really captured my interest.
Starts off strong with a lot of interesting ideas about blood based identity politics and dystopian world building but doesn't quite live up to its promises. I had a feeling what the "twist" was going to be before it's revealed and I thought surely they won't go there, it's too obvious of a metaphor but nope, they went there and that's where my interest took a nose dive. At least they had a few original ideas presented about certain aspects of said "twist" but it took something that originally felt more like a clever social commentary into cliche that I wish it left alone.
The characters were great though. I think the only one that I didn't enjoy was the teenager but that's because of the narrators choice of how to portray their voice. they leaned waaaay too far into 80's valley girl and it was challenging to listen to. But otherwise the narrator does a decent job.
Overall it was fine. loved the first bit but kind of struggled through the rest of it and the ending didn't really stick the landing for me.
