AMAZING<br />

I now understand why Andrew Lloyd Webber devoted his life's work to bringing this to the stage. It is SO theatrical!

The musical is a nice adaption of the book, but is still by far behind it!

I bought this particular reading, because I listened to BJ narrate "The Count Of Monte Cristo" I have to say he does just as well of job at it. I love how into it he gets, it's as if he were actually there.

An Unexpected Pleasure!

I have seen most of the movie versions, and was fascinated with this story as a kid. Saw the broadway musical and was probably the only person who didn't love it. Recently found this version and translation after searching and testing all the others. So many choices! Was blown away by finally hearing it read. This is truly a classic novel and suspenseful story telling. I now understand why it has become the source of so many adaptations. None of them doing this little masterpiece justice. A total unexpected pleasure read by a master reader who slowly takes you to the depth and unravels the mysteries that lie hidden within. Savor this little gem every moment you listen.

Cool story well presented

I was familiar with the narrator from The Count of Monte Cristo and he does a terrific job of separating characters through voices. Having seen the Broadway show many times I wanted a better look at this classic story. What a beautiful dark and haunting story! Definitely recommend to anyone interested in a classic thriller mystery style read.

Loved It!!!!

I have never read the Phantom of the opera but it was on my “will I ever have time for you?” Reading list. The story was easy to follow, the narrator made it enjoyable. He did a little bit a voice acting to distinguish characters. I’m not really a fan of narrators doing different voices for characters when ever someone reads something to me, but I am still very new to audible and this is the second book Audio book I have heard. Will definitely recommend!

I liked his phantom/Eric voice! So smooth!

Love It!

This story paints such a beautiful and tragic picture. Erik's attempt to fit in with the world hurts the heart JUST AS MUCH as his evil deeds inspire horror. Bravo.

Favorite book ever

My absolutely favorite book. I've listened to the abridged version many times. I couldn't pass on the opportunity to get the full version finally. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. Just don't approach this book with the movies, or the musical in mind. Although I do enjoy the musical, exceptions are made for the stage. The movies. except the Lan Channy black and white silent film, are abominations. The performance is great, I only give it four stars because the French characters don't have French accents.

Classic story well told

The narrator is very good. The story is well written with the exception of some paragraphs near the end. I was pleasantly entertained.
