Publisher's Summary

I can’t believe that I pulled my boss’ name for our company’s annual Secret Santa tradition....

As the devil incarnate, this infuriating, cocky bastard never gives us the holidays off, and he honestly expects us to be grateful for his generous alternative: The Office Party.

It’s a mandatory, all-expenses paid trip for two weeks at a surprise luxury resort - where we still have to work 12 to 15 hours a day.

I’m so over this....

So I put zero percent effort into his gift. I tear the tag off whatever my sister gifts me, add a five-dollar Amazon gift card, and hand it off to him.

It’s not until my sister sends me a text that I realize how terrible of a decision that was.

Georgia: Why haven’t you sent me a "LOL" about the brand-new vibrator I got you? I really do hope that you use your boss’ face as a muse, like my note says.

If that’s not bad enough, this year’s "luxury trip" will be in my hometown - the place I've avoided for years. At the resort that my grandmother owns....

If the universe gets me out of this, I will never "regift" anything ever again....

Loved twice over...

I read this book when it came out in kindle unlimited and absolutely loved it. There is not many books by this author that I do not like, even if she only releases a book twice every two years!! I really wish that she would get it together and release more books. Before she loses her fan base. Anywho just a little rant. 5 stars for me ❤

Fun story!

Fun story! An annual destination office party. Sounds like it would be loads of fun. Wish my office party was this creative and lit. LOL!
A short listen and Joe Arden & Erin Mallon were both fantastic in their respective performance.

Christmas traditions and meddling sisters

This was another in the quickie Whitney books which delivers a short, low angst but sexy romance. There is very little depth in these and they tend to have some jarring inaccuracies which are difficult to get over, however, this one sidesteps some of those issues. The way the story is set up it takes place during the Christmas season over multiple years. There is a decent amount of background considering the brevity of the story, and there weren't many crazy, over the top "convenient" job/legal requirements to solve plotting problems (I mean they were still there, just not as many).

The narration for this was well done. Joe and Erin are standards for Whitney's books so they handle to content well. Also one of my favourite narration teams.

Erin Mallon

The worst narration ever...I have yet to finish ANY of her stories, that is how painful her voice is. I was looking forward to the story, but was immediately all ruined by her DRAGGING the sentences like a ten year old reading a diary.

Great "I hate my boss" holiday quickie!

I absolutely loved this holiday novella. Sure, it wasn't enough, but I'll take pretty much whatever Whitney writes. Her office romances are great.

Garrett, the company CEO, and horrible Christmas Grinch. Savannah, advisor to the CEO. Garrett works his employees very hard, and yes he's not so popular w/all the work he demands. But according to him, he pays them better than other companies, and it doesn't seem that anyone is leaving. Garrett and Savannah have an adversarial relationship, but under all the layers of snark, unreasonable deadlines, awful dates and boyfriends--they seem to be friends. Ask them, and they'll both deny it.

Garrett has this annual tradition of a two-week Christma party. It's mandatory, and there is a LOT of work expected to be done during this time, but it's an all expenses paid trip to a luxury resort. A beautiful, decadent, and wonderful work retreat. I really liked the concept of this, and how employees see their bosses and coworkers. Also, how the relationship between Garrett and Savannah slowly unfolds. Not a lot of shockers, but an enjoyable read during a sucky year. I wish it was longer, but enjoyed it nonetheless.

Erin Mallon and Joe Arden do an amazing job narrating Savannah, Garrett, and all the others!

Lol

Cute and funny. I just listened to this while working and found myself smiling with the occasional giggle all day. Thank goodness we are still working from home at the moment.

This was a short, sweet and snarky listen which is guaranteed to lighten up your mood.

The narration was great and the story was short and sweet. Great listen.

This should have been a novel

I'm not sure why this was such a short story, but there was plenty of backstory that could have been explored and more time interacting with other characters. It seemed rushed when it could have had so much more depth. It was also a strange choice for the female narrator.
