give this a try

loved the narration and the story too. The relationship between mother and daughter had me recalling a few difficult moments of my own relationships. I giggled as the mother of 6 recalled some of the antics of her own kids as I recalled my kids antics too as they grew up. I recommend this boxed set.

Privileged White boy…

If I wanted to hear whiners I would watch the so-called ‘news.’ I read/listen for entertainment. Narrators were almost as bad. No thank you. My first and last by this author and narrators.

great family series

Lorhainne Eckhart stories are emotional, full of angst, and drama. This series is about a small town close knit O'Connell family . Each book is about one of the siblings, struggles, problems, secrets, and their lives. They all know that they can count in each other for help and support.
The underlying story throughout the series is their father up and left without saying goodbye. This has left a large hole within the family.
Each story can be read as a stand-alone, but all are interconnected, the family is included within the stories.

The Neighbor
Jenny and her teenage daughter move in next to Ryan O'Connell. Ryan doesn't remember Jenny from a one night stand many years ago. Alison, Jenny's daughter, is upset because of the move, the death of her father and a secret that has been kept from her. She acts out at school, at home and disappears. There's more of story that unravels, causing chaos in Ryan's life.

The Third Call
This all started with a 911 call from a child. Was it a prank? A mistake? Will the child call back? Was there really a danger? That is what deputy Marcus O'Connell is worried about. When he received the third call,Marcus puts himself in danger to save this mother and child. This story about the complexity and psyche of a man in a desperate situation.
Lorhainne Eckhart story is emotional, full of angst, and drama, that not only surrounds Marcus and Charlotte, but also the other members of the O'Connell family.

The Secret Husband
Karen O'Connell and Jack Curtis were married while in college on a whim. He left her after 3 days. Why? She was devastated. Years later, he called her out of the blue. He was in jail and needed her help. Of all the lawyers he could have chosen, why her? She said she hated him, but she was still in love with him. He told her he left, to keep her safe. From what? From whom?
This story is intriguing , and had me wondering what exactly was Jack's secret? Karen always knew, whatever happens, she always has the love and support of her family.
The narration in these stories are very good.

Captivating Series!

This boxed set includes the three first books in The O'Connells Saga: The Neighbor, The Third Call, and The Secret Husband. I love this Series! Each interconnected story follows one couple, with an ongoing plot. The stories are filled with intrigue, secrets, drama, and twists and turns. The O'Connells are intriguing, and their story is enthralling, and intricate. The narrators did a great job with the narration. I highly recommend this Series!

Meet the O'Connells!

If you love good family, small town stories, the O'Connell family is the one for you. Lorhainne Eckhart writes stories of the family, six kids in all with a flair like no other. These will have you enjoying hours of mystery, tragedy, sibling rivalry, family crises and good old fashioned love! Our series starts out with The Neighbor. You never know who is moving in next door, but Ryan O'Connell certainly never expected to find Jenny and her daughter! Jenny is running with her daughter after the tragic murder of her husband. Little does she know her one night stand from years prior would be her neighbor! A murder to solve, a daughter to help and a romance in the making! It's surprising and fun! Next we have The Third Call and this book hit my heart. As deputy, Marcus takes his job extremely seriously, and an emergency call from a 4 year old in need of help has him on the job. What he finds is a woman and child, left homeless and helpless by our broken system with a man who appears to be dangerous. But is he? What Marcus finds is heart wrenching and truly shows what incredible character he has. Unfortunately, he finds out just who can rely on as well. This story hits such realistic notes, made me think and also had me falling in love with this O'Connell brother. Lastly we have The Secret Husband. Karen is a lawyer. You know the kind, the one that will fight for those that cannot help themselves. She is happy in her job and never questioned her decision to work in her hometown near her family. Now, a phone call from the past has her thinking about things she thought were put to rest. Her one mistake she never told anyone about, Jack Curtis is looking for help with a murder case. Will she find it in her heart to help him? Can she forgive the ultimate betrayal? And what will her family think? I love the O'Connells!

The narration team for these stories is phenomenal. Picked carefully, each actor fits the part and gives us the stories with emotion and realistic attitudes and voices. I enjoyed getting to know each of these three O'Connells and look forward to the next 3!

Three Great Stories.

#1 The Neighbor
I have read these books out of order. it is best to listen to, or read them in the right order however I have still really enjoyed each story and The Neighbor has been one of my favourites. I like the characters, and the way that they are introduced and the plot is excellent.
The pace of The Neighbor was fast and had so many elements that are woven together. There is the family aspect. (And there are a lot of O'connells.) plus the relationship between Ryan and Jenny and the budding bond between Alison and the O'Connell family. There is the exciting plot that had me transfixed.
The narrators, Jessica Osbourne and Fernando Gonzales really did the story justice. Their voice acting breathed life into the story and brought the characters to life.

#2 The Third Call
What starts with a phone call to the Sheriffs station by a little girl takes the listener on an emotional journey that had tears in my eyes more than once. From start to finish the story held my focus. The plot is a journey and the writing was such, that I felt immersed into the plot.

I liked the wide range of different characters, and how the story touched upon what bought them all to that point in their lives. Some of these histories made my heart ache.

Despite a lot of deep issues touched on within the story, it was still nice to learn something more about the O'Connell family and the broader community.

This is an emotionally wrought story that I listened to in one sitting and really enjoyed. I just could not stop listening to then emotive performances by Eric Umstott and Shannon Cook. Both of these narrators did an impressive job with the voice acting, and emotion that really gave the story a natural voice.

#3 The Secret Husband
The Secret Husband is a part of the O'Connells series and I have enjoyed every book that I have listened to so far.
While I enjoyed The Secret Husband, I don't like the man at the centre of the story, Jack and I really hoped that he would grow on me. He didn't, but maybe he will with as the series progresses.

I like Karen O'Connell, I have liked the whole family so much. Karen is a lawyer, she has other peoples best interest to heart and takes it hard when a injustice occurs.
I am interested to know more about their journey.

The narration was at the extremely high level and drew me into the story with their great character representation and strong acting.

Audiobook Obsession and The Flock.

ok if you want a man dominates woman stereotype

The stories had potential but they were so over the top with the man dominating the woman, particularly the last book, secret husband. I couldn't finish listening as he forces her to stay with him. yuck. He forces her to his will, is abusive - it was just awful, awful, awful. I would return for a refund but it was my fault for buying it in the first place I guess.

The narration was ok for most of it but truly awful for one of the brother's voice's, but the first book, the guy sounded like the talk over computer animated voice you hear in Tik Tok clips.

So no, wouldn't recommend but if you're into Mills and Boon type domination then you may enjoy it, but definitely not for me.
