Publisher's summary

When everyone is sleeping, he comes into their houses.

He takes one thing. A photo of their child.

A sinister thief on a power trip or something even darker and more sinister?

Detectives Jackman and Evans find themselves on the hunt for a highly unusual burglar who seemingly only steals photographs. But then, late one night, an elderly woman falls to her death after seeing someone in her home.

Did she really fall, or was she murdered?

And just how many mysterious intruders are there on the Fens?

With the body count rising, Jackman and Evans have their work cut out for them to track down the night thief - before it’s too late.

Like a Thief in the Night, Taking Those Who're His

An intruder is the most unnerving because it violates your privacy. When it involves your own home, the sanctity and security diminishes even when the violator is caught. This feeling travels with you like a dark shadow. Joy Ellis describes the feeling and helplessness beautifully. The plus and minus of the human nature is presented so well with various characters. More insight to Evans was appreciated. Of course Jackman and Evans interactions are what I relish. The ending is cheeky! Richard Armitage narration! Gold.

Just enough shivers

Good narrator and the story was a good old English murder mystery. The fear of someone in the house at night while you sleep is a universal. Will listen again, I’m sure

Please Listen Carefully

Joy Ellis has written a very intriguing and complex story with many twists, turns and red herrings. I had to rewind several times for fear of missing the smallest clue.

With new characters, several storylines and additional background on some of the team, it took a little longer to listen to this book, but it was well worth every moment.

The ending had me exclaiming and thinking "Brilliant"!

Richard Armitage still astounds me with his character voices and how he keeps them all straight. He was marvelous in his narration.

Enjoyable!

I enjoyed this book, the storyline and the accent of the narrator. It's always nice to read/listen to a book whose story can be conveyed without sex scenes or an abuse of foul language. I would recommend this book!

Worth the wait

Enjoyed immensely and hope that a new Jackman/Evans team up will be arriving again soon. They have been gone too long! As much as I love Ms. Ellis’ other detective, Nikki Galena and I can tolerate Matt Ballard, Rowan Jackman and Marie Evans are my absolute favorite(s)!! Please keep them going!!!!
I enjoy how all of the detectives get a mention in each book and how Rory/Spike/Cardiff all make appearances. These are wonderful novels and all voices and characters well and truly shine with the narration of Richard Armitage!! I wish I had the next one in my queue now!
