"Everyone knows what happens to Crows; they go mad and they go bad."

In the post-Break world of superpowers, necromancy is the one gift nobody wants. But an invitation to the Free States' Academy of Superheroes means that same gift might be Damian Banach's ticket to a brighter future... if only he can avoid the madness ingrained in his powers.

There has never been a Crow Cape, but Damian isn't the sort to give up. He'll take control of his destiny or die trying... and he just might bring the post-Break world to its knees along the way.

The Murder of Crows is a post-apocalyptic superhero tale, set in a broken world and starring a deeply flawed teenage antihero. It contains violence, gore, angst, found family, young love, failed dreams, and a whole lot of expletives.

Includes the COMPLETE Murder of Crows series:

See These Bones: The Murder of Crows, Book I

Red Right Hand: The Murder of Crows, Book II

One Tin Soldier: The Murder of Crows, Book III

Only the Dead Remains - A short story set within One Tin Soldier's timespan

Four stories of post-apocalyptic superhero action, available at a special omnibus price!

Loved it til the end.
a strange additional book by a different narrator 8s tacked onto the end. I couldn't listen to the whole thing.
the narrator lacks a soft voice for ideal female characters. Otherwise it would be a 5 star read.

Great story and we'll written for audio version.

Absolutely loved that this story deviates from your typical "good guy vs bad guy" fantasy trope. spending the whole series trying to decide if it would end up good or bad... and if I WANTED it to end up good or bad, going through the twists and turns along the way, was an incredible experience all around. There were a couple parts that felt rushed and could have done with more storyline before moving on in my opinion but overall I cannot rate this any less than 5 stars. Will definitely be revisiting this one in the future and recommending to others.

Outstanding world and premise

This is an exceptional and thorough trilogy that I believe will eventually be a well known title among fans of progression fantasy.

Spectacular

I was looking for just any ol school setting book and got this recommend to me. I absolutely was hooked and couldn't escape from the draw this story had on me. Heck, this is one of the few stories that actually had me tearing up at those sappy bits (book 3). The narrator(s) absolutely killed it to the point I didn't care that he didn't do such a perfect job at female voices but he tried and the story more than made up for it. I hate that I want so much more of this but can't have it!

This is an absolute must listen!

It is impossible to look forward to anything because every single peak in the plot that brings any amount of joy, comfort, or hope is immediately shut down and mitigated by a "little did I know that it would all end on blood and tears" type comment by the MC/Narrator, reminding you that the world's favorite hobby is to crap all over him.

Vocal talent did a good job. the world building was neat. the power system was interesting, even if the main villain was meh and the final boss fight seemed rushed and was a bit anticlimactic. At least it came to a conclusion and not left hanging, I guess.

The "the world is cruel and my life only ever gets worse" reminders after every light-hearted or pleasant moment got REALLY old REALLY fast, and is my single biggest complaint though. That the MC didn't just throw himself off a bridge to end his own suffering was the biggest suspension of disbelief in a book about post-apocalyptic super heroes was...jarring.
