SORRY, BUT I COULDN’T GET ON WITH THE NARRATION

Sorry, but this book wasn’t for me - Lacy Laurel’s voice and over-pronounced words ended up grating on me and I wished that Connor Crais had narrated the whole book because he was much better. The plot was insta lust.. new, slightly insecure twenty-one yr old sexy, handsome, good boy male model.. and tattooed, pierced, successful fashion photographer with blue hair and eleven yrs older than him.. they get hot for one night then part. Hectic jobs, busy schedules, the world is his oyster.. but months later shoots in the same location brings them together again.. she drools, he pants.. then fireworks and a tentative relationship is formed. Deranged off the rails ex (her side) jealous model (his side) cause problems along the way along with misunderstandings and another ‘situation’ causes insecurities.. but HEA was reached in the end.

Because of the narration maybe, I just couldn’t commit to the story and also got fed up hearing how hot, handsome and sexy he was and what his dimples did to her. I’m sure this is a better book to read. The trouble with good narrators is that they totally spoil you with their flawless performances bringing books to life and making them enjoyable five star listens. So you end up being a wee bit of a picky critic when you start to wince at the female narrator’s voice and wishing it were someone else’s much-loved voice instead. I’m no author but (IMO) in a book about romance I didn’t think the wedding details.. or the actual wedding!! should’ve been totally left out, I also thought there was sex rather than sentiments and the whole relationship felt just too insta everything. Last chapter had the daughter’s name as Kingsley.. Epilogue three years she was named Delilah.

WORTH A CREDIT? The narration overshadowed the story for me.. so sorry but it’s a no from me.

Fantastic story!

Talk about hitting you in the feels! This age-gap story grabbed my attention right away and I was completely engrossed in this story. It will pull on your heart strings and not let go until the very end. Lexi & Ryder had a magnetic pull to each other & fantastic chemistry. You definitely need to listen to this audiobook (or read the book if audiobooks aren’t your thing). Lacy Laurel & Connor Crais do a phenomal job bringing the characters to life! I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

sizzling with a HEA

A sizzling romance read / listen. Narrator for Lexie came thru very ethnic but was also smooth in her delivery, Ryder's narration was well done also. I really love when a romance with dual points of view have a dual narration as I think it really brings to life the individual characters and that was the case in this read as well. Plenty of steam thru out as these main characters came into and left each other like the tides. I love their chemistry, the multiple points of angst that kept the storyline flowing. Good storyline, good characters with growth and a beautiful HEA! I'm looking forward to listening to more from this author and these narrators!

Beautiful Age-Gap Story!

This is the second book in the Love is Blind Series. Lexi and Ryder’s story is sweet and sexy. This is a great age-gap story (older woman/younger man). The storyline has drama, and a little suspense. The supporting characters are great. Lacy Laurel and Connor Crais did an amazing job with the narration. I enjoyed it.

Holy Hotness! Hottest Audiobook Ever!!!

This was the hottest audiobook I have ever listened to! The audiobook was captivating, steamy and pulls you in. You don’t want to do anything but listen to this incredible book. I had read this book a while ago and loved it then. When I saw the Audi was out, I figured I would give it a listen as I’m a huge Harlow Layne fan and holy heck did I fall hard for Lexie and Ryder all over again!

The audiobook, HOLY HOTNESS!!! The audiobook was the hottest thing I have ever listened too! The guy who voiced Ryder, his voice was as smooth as velvet. He had such a deep commanding voice, it was exactly how I pictured Ryder’s voice to sound! He grabbed my attention from the minute he spoke. And Lexie or sexy Lexie as Ryder refers to her, she was such an amazing character. I love the dynamic between these two. They start off right from the beginning hot and heavy, but shocked as they aren’t normally like that. However, it showcases how their chemistry flew off the pages!!!

Harlow Layne’s writing is phenomenal! Everything she writes is pure gold! However, the chemistry that Ryder and Lexie have made for an absolutely amazing and captivating story! Listening to this book made doing chores around the house so enjoyable! We need more love stories like Ryder and Lexie, where the characters can do their own thing and yet the attraction is so strong, they keep coming back to one another! Do yourself a favor and read and listen to this book! Your ears will thank me! 😜

Adore Connor Crais

Let me preface this by saying I adore Connor Crais as a narrator and loved the story. My only complaint is the female narrator. She always sounds so annoyed. I typically skip any books she reads for but I really wanted to listen to this one. I ended up skipping all her parts and loved the story more. Great listen for a weekend work day.

Passionate Perfection

New to me author Harlow Layne's The Model is a very well written, fast paced and thrilling read. An age gap romance and so much more, the writing, plot and dialogue is awesome!! The character development and chemistry between Lexie and Ryder's is incredible!

The narration took this story to another level...… absolute perfection. Lacy Laurel and Connor Crais narrated each character exactly as I would have imagined them. They put a lot of heart and steamy sexiness into their performance. I was blessed to receive an Advance Listener Copy (ALC) and loved it so much it is now in my personal audible library. Worth a credit? Most definitely!!
