Was hoping for a MM romance…

Well after hearing how Lee was always into men, I was hoping this would be an interesting turn of events with these rich old money families and a gay son.. who they wanted to marry off to a woman… yes I did read the summary before listening but still had some hopes.
So no, this is not a MM romance book. It’s more a book on 2 people who have a sh*t ton of trauma and they basically trauma bond, and have even more crazy things happen to them throughout the story.
The amount of issues both MCs had was a little too much! There wasn’t really any kind of crazy drama or death, but a lot of OCD, neurotic behaviors, manipulative parents, and alcohol abuse!
I also found it really really weird that a girl with extreme OCD that has to wear gloves at all times cause of germs but had no issues being with someone who really hasn’t had any experience with women, only men. But eh whatever.

Meh and Drama

I guess it was worth getting just for the sake of the series… other than that this one fell pretty flat. The whole story is all overcoming trauma and mental health issues and personal growth etc etc. Felt like the entire plot was just “I’m freaking out” and “I’m fighting to be strong”. Sex scenes are few and far between and chemistry was pretty meh. Almost completely lacking in the super hot dark elements that made the other books so delicious. The most interesting part of the story was wtf is going on with Aries?! I’m glad I got the book for those tiny elements of the overarching plot alone. If not for that and my need to have all the books in a series I’d have skipped this one.
