Literary Jewel of a book

This book was written with the same Master skill as the jeweler it portrays. The plot was sophisticated and unpredictable. I was so immersed in the storyline that I could believe that the characters were my own family and I loved them. I'm so spoiled by this author. I don't know if I can find an equal.

Really nice story and beautifully written.

Enjoyed the descriptions and elegance of the characters. I recommend this book and open to reading other books from this author.

Pleasant enough

3.5 Stars. Although I found the story interesting and learned a lot about jewelry making, I found the writing style to be somewhat juvenile. On top of that, the narrator routinely mispronounced words I think should be commonly in the lexicon of someone whose job is to read books. It was a decent plotline that the author did a fair job of leading us through. Some pretty big leaps of time as we neared the end in an effort to wrap things up. Pleasant enough book; not one I'll rave about.

Very Nice

I actually cried at the end. I wish there was another chapter ot two to explain a little more. (Sorry don’t want to spoil the ending but you’ll know what I’m talking about)

It was beautiful

I love how intricately jewelry design was put in, along with the techniques and history attached to it. The descriptions were beautiful but not overly flowery, it paints beautiful pieces of the jewelry that was seen and created. Anyu’s story was very inspiring, how everyday may be a struggle but we still live. Even with the worst hands, there’s still a silver lining to it all, even if we’re stripped of everything that we can still be happy
