Publisher's summary

Today, coaching is recognized as one of the most effective human resource development processes available, and it is becoming increasingly popular in organizations of all sizes. Faced with historically low levels of employee engagement - as little as 13 percent, according to Gallup's latest survey - business leaders see coaching as key to unlocking the human talent, creativity, and innovation hiding in plain sight in their workplaces. And rather than bringing in coaches for this purpose, they want to integrate coaching into their company culture - a 2015 study by the International Coaching Federation and the Human Capital Institute found that 81 percent of organizations surveyed planned to train managers or leaders in coaching skills.

The Master Coach was written for these leaders and is perfectly positioned to become the definitive work on the topic. Drawing on the wealth of experience that has made Gregg Thompson and Bluepoint Leadership Development the choice of numerous Fortune 100 companies, it illuminates the essence of what it takes to be a great coach. The Master Coach will appeal to leaders at all organization levels, showing them how to make a significant shift in their attitudes, values, and behaviors and become more coach-like in all their daily interactions and conversations.

The Master Coach is based on the simple but profound 3Cs Coaching Model. This proven approach asserts that to master the art of coaching one must have an exemplary character that invites the trust of others, be able to form rapid connections with others at a deeply personal level, and have the ability to initiate and guide intense, attitude-changing conversations. At every step, Thompson reminds listeners that coaching is not merely about what the coach says or does; it's about who he or she is.

Good tidbits but mediocre recording

Had some useful information and definitely several things made me pause the playback so I could *really* think about them. My chief complaint was that the recording has several stops/starts, repeated sentences with noticeably different voice inflection, and even one throat clearing. Quality of recording detracted from the content for me.

Get this book

I bought the audiobook and it was so good, I bought the hard copy. It is full of insight. It’s not full of bullet points to be a coach, but rather what a coach is and isn’t as well as the philosophies a master coach should embody to be the best coach possible. Well worth the read!

great book, well narrated, terribly edited

the book contains a really valuable message but the editing makes it hard to appreciate. Many sentences were repeated and a cough can be heard at one point.

good content but needs editing

It seems the audio editor was asleep at the wheel. Tha narrator often struggled with pronunciation and repeats lines that seem to give the impression he thought the mistakes would be cut from the end result. Otherwise, I think the content is helpful.

Needs editor to listen!

The reader who is narrating this should know how to pronounce “amygdala”, Brené Brown, and Carl Jung.
Also some passages are repeated, obviously not having been edited.
The content is very helpful for a new coach. I love referring to the coachee as “the talent.”

Where are the editors

Was this self published ranting making lists in the last section of the books so you are overloaded with what should have been covered in the beginning and throughout. English 101. How to format a paper !
