Tarak has done a pretty good job of avoiding what his single-minded father called his "destiny" for seventeen years, but now his identity is revealed, and it's drawing more attention than a tear through the rump of his pants.

It's looking like an uphill road, but there are some major bonuses. It turns out sorcery is not as complicated as his father made it seem, and not every sorcerer has to be as virtuous as the old dog.

BT got it going in here! Interesting characters with fun interactions with tasteful humor, set in a familiar world. Can’t wait for the next installment to be released!

It was very good

If you enjoyed his other books you will enjoy this one. I liked it. The one negative thing I will say is that I wished they would have used the same narrator that did the Jon Oklar series. The narrator did a fine job however I couldn't get use to the characters voices sounding different.

fun story can't wait for the next Book

the reviews of people who can not do anything like this. if you don't like it you should just leave it at a simple statement. like not for me. it was a story about a misguided young man. it is a fun story with a MC who needs to grow up. take it for what it is.

Unique magic system

The overall story is pretty good. I enjoyed seeing a story with actual character development. It's not something we get to much now a days.

I enjoyed how the author used music as his magic system. While it was not exactly the same it helped me international understand with the different notes and octives.

overall the story was enjoyable and I would definitely read more from this author.

Bad MC baaad

While the story, world and magic are all very interesting. The MC pretty much ruins it. Hes as others say it a punk. When people think why hate teenagers this 17 year old is why. Hes arrogant obnoxious, thinks he knows right. claims he wants to help the people like hes 'woke' yet never really does anything for the people except judges the king and others for their lack of actions. He does anything he wants uncaring of the consequences like trying to bed the engaged princess.


Honestly was hoping he'd get exiled or arrested to teach him to grow up and stop being lazy and uncaring for how his actions affect others. Like does he for once at all consider bedding the virgin princess might lead to war with her engaged and many peoples deaths when he finds her "sulllied" nope.

If the author was setting up the first boom to have the MC slowly grow and developed that would be one thing. But he doesnt by the end the MC is still as flippant as the start.

As for narration, mostly good but there were scenes with the males that I couldn't tell who was who talking. Micheal, Arthur and The MC sound a lot alike.

Great start

Actually one of the best books I've come across in awhile. Hopefully it continues to be

DNF Absolutely Insufferable

Good concepts and world potential but unfortunately this is profoundly stupid in execution; one of the worst things I've tried to listen to in years. Almost as if it was designed to piss off the listener - It's actually an impressive feat to create a book with absolutely no tolerable or interesting characters... I get the MC is supposed to be obnoxious but you can't write a character with no positive qualities and expect them to carry a story.

The main character is a punk

The main character has enough will to a pose his Demi god of a father but not random people That enslave him thirty minutes later. Its terrible writing from a terrible author
