Publisher's Summary

When a disastrous decision by the trainmaster forces Jesselynn Highwood and her companions to separate from the wagon train, she races back to Fort Laramie to find a guide to take them to Oregon. But the guide has a far different plan, and following her heart, Jesselynn agrees to join him, her ragtag band in tow.

Back east, Louisa Highwood and her brother, Zachary, are captured by Union soldiers for smuggling medical supplies into Richmond. Can Louisa find a way to obtain her brother's freedom before it's too late? The future of the Highwood family - and that of their beloved Twin Oaks - hangs in the balance. Will the war's end bring them together again?

Faith and Grace

i wish their ,was a 4th book ,that her brother Zachary
would come around !That youngest sister would mature!
along with her husband .and bringing up their family
Like that ,,Meshach ,he wishes to retain Highwood name.
Because sisters , father was more a father than his own.
Where other master were cruel ,that is why they rejected their slave name !
Lastly Jessie Lynn ,said they were all eaguak ,color and class
did not matter !
I think the last book was the best .
Especially, wentb AAuntc Agatha came around to the same thinking as Jessilyn .,despite how she had been brought up!
Thaddeus realizr d staying with His uncle was not safe .

The Long Way Home

An interesting story that stops without an ending. It just stops! I went looking for the next book in the series but there isn’t one.

Enjoyed all the books in this series!

I enjoyed the story , just always hard to realize how difficult life was in the 1800. This book helps me see how good God is to us and how much we should appreciate all the blessings we enjoy today!

I really enjoyed all 3 audio books in this series. By the end of the 3rd one, I can't help but hope Zachary will get his story as well.

an okay but good book

another book in the series.. this was a good book...but did not care for it quite as much as the first two...I hope ms snelling will add to the series and get the family back to wyoming! florida was too depressing...really like my books to end well. best part was when the gal fought to see president lincoln to try to save her brother..who really did not want to be saved from the firing squad....her brother seemed so very ungrateful...that is why I hope the author will write a sequel. enjoyed parts, but feel too much was left hanging. at least, this was a christian book without all the sex that some authors seem to think as necessary to their books. best part was when the wife and killed the bear with just one shot while she was fishing...then the engenuity the women used to get the beat back to the cave while all the men were off doing other things!!
