Publisher's summary

Which would be worse? Suffering an EMP, electromagnetic pulse? Or finding out that you've fallen back into time, 500 years?

Beckett Gray thinks the world has ended because all indications lead him to believe that an EMP has struck, and he is woefully unprepared. His car and cell phone have died near the Appalachian Trail, in the Cumberland Gap National Park. Then he and several other hikers find out what has really happened!

Will they survive this savage time? Can they find their home again? Or will they have to make a new home in an unforgiving time?

They find out quickly that they are not welcome in this time and that it is trying to kill them.

Fun

The book was a very fun read. Totally was like a little make-believe story about going back in time I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Hiking the Appalachian Trail

When Becker's car dies and he has no cell reception he just knows it must be an EMP hit. After meeting up with other hikers he starts to doubt that is what happened. If only he can make it home. One of the hikers has an old car if only they can get to it.
The narrator, Kevin Moody gave a great performance in this audiobook.

THIS STORY HAD POTENTIAL...

The premise for this story was pretty good, however the execution was just a little off in my opinion. There were parts of the story that were completely believable and even plausible if you were to believe in time travel, but the narration was so unbelievably poor that it just threw the whole cadence of the audiobook off.
It would be difficult for me to recommend anyone to buy this audiobook.

I received a free copy of this audiobook and I freely give my review of this audiobook.

A wonderful story with lots of adventure

I really enjoyed this book. It was a little different and had some surprises. The characters were well fleshed out and engaging. It was interesting to listen to the native speaking parts, I really enjoyed that and sounded authentic. It was so good that I listened to the book nearly straight through. I think I have read all of Mr. Ison's books and I'm never disappointed. I would highly recommend this book.

Not What I Was Expecting

This was a really cool story. I enjoyed all the characters and their journey throughout the book. After finishing the story I was left wanting more and hope that S. A. Ison takes us all back someday!

Interesting Read - would recommend

This was my first time reading a book by S.A. Ison. It took me a little while to warm up to the pacing and the way the story was being told. I felt like the plot was substantial enough to have benefited from more world building and character development. However the pacing was fast and I easily followed along with where Ison was going. The narration was pretty good. Overall I would recommend the book as the story was interesting and I thought Ison did a good job.

The long walk home

This was fast paced and unbelievable.Yes,in a fiction world,I can not imagine things happening this way.It started out on the Appalachain trail.A mans car and phone stop at the same time.He screams, attracting hikers to their new plight.Everyone deals with this information, him killing animals for food and losing a person to snake bite, like it happens everyday..No one freaks out.Developing characters would have made for a better story. Kevin S Moody was a fine narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'

Needs new narrator

Not a bad story line but the narrator sounds like he has a fifth grade reading level... maybe it’s his first narration?
