Neal managed to survive the initial weeks after an EMP decimated the grid and all critical infrastructures. Using his cunning, skills, and mindset, he navigated the harsh new landscape. Life became harder when the weeks turned to months but still he survived. As he settled into his new normal, complacency set in with it. At first everything was fine, but then the deadly realities came to his doorstep. When tragedy struck all he wanted to do was give up, but a promise he had made kept him going, barely.

Known as The Collective, they pride themselves on an orderly system of government with a functioning infrastructure. The citizenry owe their success to their founder The Number One, who presides over them with an iron fist. Life in The Collective centers on contribution and purpose. Publisher's Summary
The End was just the beginning of the new world…
Only six weeks have passed since a super-EMP attack devastated the United States, but already, life has changed dramatically. Most of America has become a wasteland filled with starving bands of people, mobs and gangs. Millions are dead and millions more are suffering, with no end in sight.
For Gordon, Samantha, Sebastian, Cruz, and Barone, the turmoil and chaos they dealt with in the early weeks after the attack will seem trivial in comparison to the collapse of society that plays out before their eyes. Uncertainty abounds as they all travel different paths in search of a safe place to call home. The only thing that is definite is that The Long Road will take its toll on all of them.

Too many Cliches!
I cannot understand how this book gets a good review from anybody - one bad cliche after another, poor writing, no, terrible writing. Good narration. Sentence after sentence that does not logically follow the one before it. No character development at all. The head of the the drug cartel is described as "deciding he would not be poor, and soon he became the go to guy for people to get anything they want" done - total character development. I tried to like this book because I like the genre, impossible, it is a bad book and nothing redeems it.
Not recommended, not one second of it.

I am glad I waited it out! Not to be disappointed!
If you could sum up The Long Road - A Post Apocalyptic Novel in three words, what would they be?
A great story leading into another story. I love this series.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The narrator started off reading this book really fast. Just as I was irritated and almost put it down the problem was fixed and it became the enjoyable read just I was hoping for, as the first book.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Story made me laugh and cry as I grew attached to the characters
Any additional comments?
I couldnt wait for the next book! Was not disappointed by this book at all. I am glad that the initial issue of the narrator reading too fast was fixed. I recommend this book and the entire series!

Who was your favorite character and why?
I can't, too many to list.
Which character – as performed by Joseph Morton – was your favorite?
All around good job.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There was 1 incredibly annoying part that just about ruined the book, I only hope book 3 justifies it. If not, then this would be the first time i ever read a book with such rich opportunities be ruined by the actions in 1 paragraph.
