After a year of fighting across three different lands, Dante and Blays have finally brought Gladdic to justice - and in the process, they've unleashed a horror beyond all reckoning.

The enemy is known as the White Lich. He is ancient. He is immensely powerful. And Gladdic believes he will soon enslave all of Tanar Atain.

Their only chance to defeat him is to strike fast, before the lich has regained his power. But attacking him directly would be suicide. Instead, Gladdic has an alternative. Once upon a time, the lich was human, with a mortal body. Gladdic believes that original body is still out there, hidden somewhere in the swamps.

If they can find it and kill it, then the lich should die with it. But if they fail, the White Lich will rip the souls from the people of Tanar Atain - and turn his gaze on the rest of the world.

I've enjoyed all the Cycle of Arawn and Galand books so far, with some more than others. The Light of Life has been my least favorite book of the two series so far.It was nice to be back on an adventure with Dante and Blayze again, but this book starts out with the two trying to figure out how to kill the White Liche, and ends in pretty much the same place. The book is mostly comprised of Dante and Blayze leading their crew paddling here and there in the swamps, with a break for a few chapters of sitting in the grass trying to learn a new form of magic, and then back to paddling around.

And what ever happened to Rosha? The last three books spent a large portion of each book to build up a secondary character and story for Rosha, only to end anti-climatically with her being sent away and not given even a small part in this book. What was the point of the build up? Perhaps she will turn up later, but it seemed a missed opportunity to bring some more action to this book.

Overall, I'm sure that there were some building blocks laid in this book to help the plot of the final book of the Cycle of Galand, but this book seems to be mostly filler to extend the series. The Narration of Tim Gerald Reynolds was perfect.

Good, But Not Best In Series

couldnt wait for this story. it didnt disappoint. how would they get along with their arch nemisis? would they be able to win against a foe with powers beyond anything they ever faced before? lots of twists and unexpected turns and loved every minute! hurry up and release the next one! what a great adventure series!

As always a trilling ride of deep character development and witty banter. His world building and cultures are just as amazing as the beginning, The White Tree.

Never lets me down!

As we last left Dante and Blays they had failed to stop the unleashing of an almighty White Lich and after defeating Gladdic, solicited his support in defeating the lich instead of killing him for all his atrocities.

What follows is an adventure fighting off Blighted and other swamp creatures along with a side trip to place to learn the ways of the Odo Sein that can suppress both ether and nether, which will be needed in order to hope to defeat White Lich. While there, Dante finally seems to find himself a love interest in the person Ara but, as with most things he gets involved with, there are complications.

While their adventures have always been on the dark side, what with all the killing and tragedies following them, this episode takes an even darker twist to it, one that finds the most and least battle-ready in their small group brought down. Can the group go on without them or will they need to abandon the pursuit of the White Lich?

You'll certainly enjoy finding out yourself as much as I did.

As expected, props to Tim Gerard Reynolds for another outstanding performance.

Another exciting installment in the saga

As always Ed brings us an exciting tale of the adventures of Dante and Blays, with the addition of old enemies turned hesitant allies. With a mix of Dante's dark sarcasm and the Laconic wit of Blays, The Light of Life manages to elicit laughter without sacrificing the tension of perilous situations.

Constantly getting closer to the edge of my seat!

Well, once again I am overwhelmed at how great a writer Ed is. And of course Tim Gerard Reynolds the Great makes it come completely alive with his narrative skillz!!! You will be furious, happy, scared as hell, sad to tears, then shocked, then back to furious and then you will be satisfied yet dying to read more once it's over. Just another great read thanks to Edward W Robertson! I see why TJR is such a highly sought after narrator. Great Job! And my boys love for me to turn this book on when im in the kitchen cooking, they will come i and listen for an hour sometimes, that's during video game time!!!! They could be gaming on their consoles playing Red Dead 2 or the Witcher but instead they are asking questions about ether and nether and blighted and Star Eaters.... Lol it's great!

Freaking Great! (As usual)

Story continues fluidly and is well written, a bit dull and long winded at times. Performance by Mr Reynolds is once again top quality.

Really good
