An ember of hope remains against the Inheritors.

The Yamnaya betrayal decimated Terra Nova. Her defenders reeling, fleets damaged. With the Inheritors' next devastating attack coming to end the colony, a single chance remains.

The forces of the Ibarra Nation, Terran Expeditionary Force, and Terra Nova hatch a desperate plan to save themselves… and all of humanity. Ely Hale and Eneko Ibarra carry the light of hope with them into the Inheritor's evil heart. Will their bond be enough for victory, or will darkness finally prevail across Tera Nova?

The Light Within is the explosive finale to the Terran Expeditionary Corps series and the legendary Ember War saga, delivering heart-pounding space combat, unbreakable heroism, and galaxy-altering twists that will leave you breathless. If you crave the relentless action of Old Man's War or the epic scope of The Expanse, you'll be riveted by this masterful conclusion from Dragon Award-winning author Richard Fox.

The ending to all the stories of all the characters we have followed was well, like I said Just right.

Just Right!

The author did NOT drop the ball or miss the beat to concluding this series. There were no loose ends and the conclusion of this story was very satisfying.
The narrator stayed within excellence.
The action was non-stop and the political side added to the story instead of blunting the story. Loved it. Highly recommend, five stars across the board!

A satisfying end to the series

I have listened to the whole Ember War series over and over again. I love them. They’re a solid listen when I’m in a void between new listens. They are an excellent sci-fi series that I would recommend to anyone immediately if they asked for a recommendation. My only issue it with the inconsistencies. In this book, around 2 hours in they mention an event at the end of The Blood of Heroes and totally get wrong who was there. And this isn’t the only instance. I’m sad but satisfied if this is a conclusion to the ember war saga and I appreciate what I have to listen to for still countless more hours, however, several times during listening of the series there have been issues with either the narrator or what was written in the book. Misplacing characters and having them completely in the wrong area when they are supposed to not even be on the planet. Sometimes it seems like these situations that one character shouldn’t be there are just written out and slapped in. It’s a great series. But with all do respect, consistency is key. Love.

Fantastic but.

No, not everyone will get a fairy tale ending. No, not everyone will come home. Fox closes the chapter on this outstanding saga in a most fitting way. There's no utopia at the end of it all, but there is Light. The saint & her God live!

A great end to the Emer War saga! Sad to see it end but wholly satisfied with how it closes.
