Publisher's Summary

Jayla Anthony had it all.

At least, that's what it looked like from the outside. But from the inside looking out, she knew there was much more to life than her current situation. And when she decides to press the reset button on everything she thought she knew with her newly divorced status, her new occupation, and her move to a brand-new town, she hardly expects that to somehow end up including the young, handsome security guard from her company's building.

Khalid Irving is a man on the come-up now that he's found a steady, good-paying job, a better living situation, and most importantly, a better outlook on life after a few years of no real direction. And now that he feels like he's on the right track, he's ready to pursue the woman who stole his attention the second she stepped into his building, even if that means he has to become her client first.

Jayla knows the risk of mixing business and pleasure. Khalid knows how bad he wants her. And when the two finally get together, the chemistry is electric.

But just because the fire is there, that doesn't mean there won't be a few tough lessons to learn along the way . . . .

Contains mature themes.

Perfect Ending

Loved the way the author finished the series and tied up loose ends. Also loved the narrators as well.

Story is great, female narrator is great

I really liked the author and story but the male narrator needs some work. He does not even consistently say the name Khalid the same every time. I am. not feeling him at all, I need Jakobi back. Thanks for listening:)

Love this author, but...

I love this author's writing style normally, but this book just didn't do it for me. I struggled to finish listening. I ONLY finished to try to see how things ended with the characters from the Games We Play. not enough character development or something idk just didn't hit right 😢 still, worth a read to at least finish the series and support the author!

Missing a whole lot of something for me

This book just didn’t do it for me, The chemistry was off with the couple, the book was short and seemed a bit rushed and the male narrator wasn’t that great.

No Lessons Learned For Me!!!

I did not like The Lessons We Learn as much as I liked The Games We Play. Other than a few funny moments, it was borderline boring. I just wasn't feeling Khalid and Jayla as a couple. Something about their relationship didn't click for me. The Lessons We Learn was a decent love story but, there wasn't anything spectacular about this book.

Good listen

I like how they kept the story line going and allowing us to see it from the other side! At the same time keeping us updated on the relationships from the first book. For sure a good read/listen.
