Therefore, it is most unfortunate when she crosses paths with Alex O’Riley, a pirate who is no Mr. Darcy. With all the world scrambling after the amulet, Alex and Charlotte join forces to steal it together. If only they could keep their pickpocketing hands to themselves! If Alex’s not careful, he might just steal something else—such as Charlotte’s heart.

A lot of fun, but not quite as good as the first book

The narration is perfection and the tension is delicious, but the story is not quite as much fun as the first book. Still a great listen though, and I look forward to the next!

Absolutely delightful!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It’s fun, funny, and romantic. The pacing is much better than in the first book, but it’s still full of madcap shenanigans and witty dialog (so many double entendres). It just doesn’t feel quite so overwhelming as in book one. I think the author learned from that book. (Which, don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed!) I still laughed out loud at numerous points, though. Great fun!

Really, this is nearly the perfect romantasy, imo.

And, as always, Elizabeth Knowelden is perfect in her narration! Brava!
