Publisher's Summary

Assistant, you are a leader.

As an assistant, you constantly face obstacles that hold you back from accomplishing your career goals. Whether it’s a job change, shifting deadlines, a micromanaging executive, a toxic coworker, a high-pressure project, or an intense negotiation with a vendor, the administrative profession is not for the faint of heart.

If you’re looking to maintain the status quo and be “just an assistant”, this audiobook is not for you. But, if you want the confidence and ability to conquer the challenges that most try to avoid, then you’re in the right place.

The Leader Assistant outlines four pillars - embody the characteristics, employ the tactics, engage in relationships, and exercise self-care - that will help you rediscover your passion for the profession and become a confident, future-proof, game-changing leader assistant. If you neglect even one pillar, you’ll head for burnout, stagnation, and anonymity. You are meant for so much more.

Are you ready to be the leader assistant the world needs?

Wonderful resource!

Thank you, Jeremy, for writing this book! It has been such a wonderful resource. I actually listened to the audiobook and followed along with my paperback copy. I got through my first read/listen in 2 or 3 days, and I’ve referred back to different sections multiple times. I especially loved the chapters on networking and burnout. I think this is a great resource for all assistants/executive assistants/chiefs of staff/etc. - no matter the years of experience.

Excellent resource for Executive Assistants

I just finish the audiobook for the third time! I always get something new every time I listen! A great read for long road trips. Chapter 16: Negotiation is what stuck with me this time around as it’s an area of personal growth that I’m working on. This is a great resource for Executive Assistants at all levels of experience.

So many helpful nuggets!

This was such a helpful book on how to be more effective, forward thinking, and influential as an Executive Assistant. I truly believe this book should be owned by every assistant and leader. Thank you Jeremy for this thoughtful resource - the physical copy of this book is highlighted, underlined, and flagged to within an inch of it’s life, might need a back up.

Great resource for both the new and experienced EA

I was recently hired as an EA, and I am BRAND NEW to this role/world. I bought this book based on positive reviews online, and I found it SO helpful as far as getting my head wrapped around this role. I know for a fact that I will be going back to re-listen to chapters of this book as I progress through my new role - Thanks Jeremy!

Thank you - loved it

Loved the book. I was on the edge of burnout when I started reading. It has given me not only hope for better days but the ability to say no, regain a little of my sanity and examples that mirror my own stressors. I’ve managed to say no for the first time and help me feel less guilty about taking time off. Thank you so much for writing this. It should be on every assistants reading list.

Wonderful content; agonizing delivery

I thoroughly appreciated the content in The Leader Assistant; thankfully I am fully capable of clicking the 1.5 speed button. The bonus material is almost overwhelming, almost ;-) thank you Jeremy for putting it all out there. Jeremy provides actually useful tips and suggestions and very practical tools.

Practical, Insightful, Entertaining

Jeremy is a good storyteller! But this book is anything but a fable. His wisdom, knowledge and expertise conveyed through stories helps demonstrate practical application. From what NOT to do, what to be cautious of, and what tools/strategies will help you ROCK as a leader assistant, his communication is clear and effortless. The Leader Assistant is a MUST READ for anyone in a support role, and a SHOULD READ for those with supporting direct reports.
