Publisher's Summary

The zombies have been banished for almost a year now, and Adrian Ring's greatest threats are starvation, and strangers. He can feed both problems away, but a full belly doesn't always lead to trust. With the Northern Valley Cooperative shored up as allies, the future looks bright for Adrian and his family at Bastion. They've added tanks, machine guns, a helicopter, and a hundred trained National Guardsman to their assets on hand.

But why is Adrian so uneasy?

Why are the refuges from overseas coming in such large droves? Why are they so hungry, and afraid? Why are they so happy to find the Trinity on foreign shores?

Because they left the scourge behind.

At least, they thought they left it behind.

Humanity's plague returns, and when it does, alliances old and new are put to the test, and the world is upended yet again.

The Last Resort contains Adrian's Journal entries from December 3rd, 2013, through June 7th, 2014. It also contains the side fictions Steve Goes to the City, The Only Easy Day, The Last Plane out of Kandahar, The Citadel, Terrible Things in Your Name, and Just Me.

The Last Resort

Ahhhhhhh. Here we go again. Philbrook and Foster are back with the latest installment of A.U.D. -The Last Resort. Book 10 bridges alot of gaps and answers some question readers/listeners may have had through the first 9, all while blowing everything wide open for what's to come.

Adrian makes a couple unAdrian like decisions early on that set the tone for the rest of this rollercoaster ride. Familiar faces return in unfamiliar roles and a world problem once thought to be rectified has once again shown its ugly face...and arms....and legs.

I will not ruin the plot for you, but I can say that TLR had me cursing Philbrook once again. His ability to introduce characters and incorporate them into the groups of each faction is amazing. You will very quickly come to hate charecters in this series and root for others........and as soon as you become attached.......

If you've read the first 9, this one is a must. If you just so wander upon this one.....take the time and start the series, you wont be dissapointed.

Awesome sauce

Another great read from Philbrook, even though I hate he killed Michelle out, so was does that mean for the trinity. I'm not sorry for saying I'm glad the zombies are not completely gone!!!! I'm impatiently waiting for book 11

a suspenseful cliff hanger

So having gone through the entire series...I have to say its been a journey. Its that great for me to go as far as review..my only beef with the 9-10 book is that they made Adrian more of a side char or decision maker which I could understand why...Michelle ending up dead is a no no imo but a game changer. I more believe Adrian has a guardian angel yet having to fight his inner demon seeing as he's gonna face the eu threat. lots of loss of life in this n the previous books. hmm I'm excited to see how his other brothers play a roll soon maybe but it's really sad how this storyline has been stuck in a small area or no big thoughts of hitting distribution centers... larger ones which could supply their needs. if Adrian wasn't so much of a lil pussy this time around he could have done the same dmg prolly avoiding lots of the deaths etc. eliminating their northern threat. all in all great story/series ..must buy in audio format.

You need to check series out it won't disappoint !

I couldn't stop listening. This is not my normal type of book to listen to. I stumbled on it by accident and I am so glad I did. I have my son listening to them now. I am in shock because I don't know what to do without Adrian until the next book comes out. I feel like he is a friend or a son. I like the journal story telling style, the side stories. I enjoy the person that reads the book. I need to reread earlier books because I sometimes lost track of characters and their stories, due to multitasking while listening. I will be checking out more of this author's work. I want to thank Chris Philbrook for sharing his talent and Adrian's journey. Keep it coming my brother, I'm desperate for more!😊
