Enjoyable stories by well-known authors. A lot of content in one volume.

Very good, sweet short stories

I love these authors! These stories all intersect and I love that! Narrator does great male/female voices with English accent. If you enjoy sweet, short romances with the magic of Christmas, I believe you will enjoy these stories. if you love these authors then you will listen regardless of a review. 🙂

This would make a great Christmas present. I had so much fun listening and sighing over all the happy endings.

A most excellent book!

I simply ate this book up, and I know it will be one I listen to over and over again in the future!

The narration is also amazingly perfect! Elaine Claxton has a beautiful, rich voice that does every character's voice and accent perfectly.

Perfect for the season

Each one of these stories shines. My personal favorites were "My True Hath My Heart" by Joanna Bourne, "Mistletoe Kisses" by Anne Gracie, "Old Flames Dance" by Cara Elliott, "Miss Finch and the Angel" by Jo Beverley and "A Season for Marriage" by Nicola Cornick. I should must say all of them were my favorites 😍

Nice change

This book was a delightful change from the single story novel. I enjoyed reading about each character's preparation for attending the party. It was similar to reading multiple stories.

Series within a book

Each author wrote into a whole story. The attendees were written by different authors which gave them a unique personality in of themselves. Overall a good book to listen to. Each story is a stand alone but together it became a last chance ball.

The Last Chance Ball

Beautifully narrated by Elaine Claxton, this anthology is filled with several different novellas all built around Miss Holly's "last chance ball". Each story highlighted characters who met and fell in love with someone else invited to the ball. I enjoyed listening to the audio version of this book since the narration was so splendid and these are some of my favorite authors. It was a wonderful Christmas diversion when I took breaks from all the hustle and bustle of this time of year.

Nice planning and cohesive theme

Sometimes in these one main story, multiple author collections the characters don’t seem the same from segment to segment, but this group did a great job keeping the characters uniform and appealing.

Each author writes a short love story set within the theme, if not the actual place of the house party and Christmas Ball. Some stories and characters are stronger but they are all really good.
Every time a new character is introduced I thought “Oh I hope their story is coming up” and it was! Yay! They did a great job with the transitions too.
There are eight (?) stories and they are all good.
Also, no descriptive sex for those who are looking for “clean” romance. There is allusion to it in a few stories, just not a bunch of details. For those who like a little spice, the stories really didn’t suffer for the lack of orgasmic detail.
