The land Uncharted
Any additional comments?
There is a spiritual theme of good against evil throughout the story It describe different people deal differently with evil. There is the question--is God in control and if so, does He punish man’s rebellion? The reader/ listeners has to make up their own conclusion.

Compelling story of a land forgotten
Would you consider the audio edition of The Land Uncharted to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print version, but I was drawn to this book about a month ago when I saw the synopsis and knew it was something I wanted to pick up quickly. When the author offered the audio version in exchange for an honest review, I was hooked into an immediate desire to follow my instincts on this being a great read.
What other book might you compare The Land Uncharted to and why?
It had an historical feel, like "Little Women" and a touch of Narnia in a land either lost or forever forgotten.
Which scene was your favorite?
I loved the scene where Lydia tried to save the boys from being washed out to sea. It proved beyond any doubt that she was someone who would always put the needs of others above herself...what better attribute for a doctor?
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me extremely introspective about the discourse in our lands today.
Any additional comments?
Keeley Brooke Keith has woven a delightful tale of a land inhabited 7 generations ago by people trying to escape from the war and unrest of their previous lives. Lydia Colburn started studying to be a nurse when she was only 16. Her father, John, one of the village's elders watches over her with a strong sense of right and wrong as she struggles to understand what draws her to the naval aviator who blew onto the island with a magical piece of cloth, that carried him to their shores. Like every good book, there are some evil people who have their own ideas about Lydia's destiny. Between her brother, Levi, and her sister's interactions with the handsome stranger, Lydia is even more determined than ever to fulfill her dream of becoming a doctor with or without the handsome stranger. Connor Bradshaw has his hands full as he struggles to learn the customs of "The Land" and gain favor with the beautiful young healer who rescues him from the ocean's wrath. I loved the audio version and highly recommend this soul-searching story to those who love historical fiction and romance and Christian science fiction.

Loved it!
Would you consider the audio edition of The Land Uncharted to be better than the print version?
I think both audio and print editions to be of equal worth. It would be a matter of opinion whether the reader enjoyed audio over print editions. I enjoy both reading and listening to books soi am in a neutral position.
Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite characters are the main characters as well as Lydis's dad. I like him because he was overall a calming influence throughout the story. The other characters I liked were that two main characters. They made the story come to life!
Have you listened to any of Kate Fisher’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first book I havelistenedto from this author.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
My only reaction was that I Loved this story and will be awaiting another one as time passes.

A Wonderful Romance with a Time Travel Twist
THE LAND UNCHARTED was a delightful surprise. I liked everything about it. It was a well written romantic fantasy with so much more. It had a hint of time travel and science fiction that made it a terrific listen. The main characters were well-developed and likeable. The supporting characters were done very nicely as well, especially her Aunt Isabella who I really liked. If one has a question of whether or not this is specifically a Christian book, it isn’t. It’s a book that tells a great story without the use of cursing and sex scenes which I found refreshing and relaxing. It was a standout on its own.
The protagonist Lydia lives with her family in a village named Good Springs in a special Land and one night she happens upon a stranger who’s washed up on the shore. She’s unsure about him but she knows he needs her help and with her being a healer, she insists on helping him. I don’t think she was aware that any other place existed until Conner arrived. Her father, along with her brother Levi doesn’t want her to help him for fear that others will come and interfere with their peaceful society. Lydia ignores them and helps him anyway. She offers him a cup of tea from the gray leaf trees. The trees grow in this land and have rare healing properties.
Conner has no idea where he is. He only knows that he’s a pilot in the war who ejected from his airplane and is tangled in his parachute. He had a partner but doesn’t know what happened to him. All he knows is that he’s in a strange land with people who exist in their own world and he’s in pain and needs help. Although he wants to return home, over time Conner learns that he’s needed here as much as he was needed in his world.
Once Conner and Lydia begin to hit it off, it’s clever and realistic in an old-fashioned kind of way. And at the end of the day, isn’t that what it’s all about? True love takes time. I highly recommend giving this audiobook a listen. It’s really very good. It’s the first in a series of three audiobooks and I look forward to listening to the second, which is UNCHARTED INHERITANCE and the third, UNCHARTED REDEMPTION. Keely Brooke Keith is definitely an author to watch as I see more great books from her in the future.
KATE FISHER did an outstanding job narrating this book. She had a lovely voice and kept the story moving at a steady pace throughout. She had nice tone and a quality that epitomized Lydia. She’s clearly a skilled voice actor and it showed with her performance in this audiobook. Although she doesn’t read book two and three, I’m still excited to see what she does next. I’m also excited to see how this story continues. I don’t mind different narrators in a series. It adds different aspects and shows diversity.
Audiobook gifted in exchange for review.

Wonderful Story
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, there is a pleasant story here with just enough conflict. Anyone that likes to read without being offended by violence, foul language or explicit sex scenes will enjoy this story.
What other book might you compare The Land Uncharted to and why?
I honestly haven't read another book like it. It has a bit of opposites.. it's set in the future with a warrior thrown from a plane. But where he lands is a throwback society cut off from technology and living a simpler lifestyle where everyone takes care of each other.
What about Kate Fisher’s performance did you like?
The narrator Kate Fisher was wonderful. Sometimes when a narrator tries to do different voices- they become cartoony. That wasn’t the case here. Young, old, female or male the voices were done perfectly.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The only aspect of the story that disappointed me was Lydia’s obsession with how others thought of her and her reputation. This wasn’t about her dating life, it was about what they expected of her daily as the community’s potential doctor. For example, she got squeamish if someone she was having a conversation with started to lean toward gossiping. Lydia worried that others might see her and associate that she herself was a gossip. This wasn’t the only occurrence of her taking a ‘guilt by association’ type attitude.
Any additional comments?
There are themes about how to treat others with respect, responsibility toward others in the community, hospitality, etc. This is a book that could easily be read and shared with all ages in the family and then discussed.
I was provided a code for this audible in order to listen to and write an honest review.

Only a few chapters in...
My mother read this series and then read the three prequels. She couldn’t shut up about how good they were so I finally caved in and ordered the first book of the prequels here. It was terrible to listen to! The voice actress doing the reading was awful and she seemed to be trying to speed read her way through it. So I decided to skip to the next series only to find it the same! This woman is like listening to a droning robot. I may finish this one but I will not listen to any of the others. I don’t have much time to sit and read so it may be a while before I finish this series. Too bad that both of the series are read by such terrible actresses.

Sweet and safe
Audio book review. 3 ish stars given a generous gift to 4.
Totally safe for fundamentalists; a couple chaste kisses.
Modern jet fighter pilot and gentleman is ejected into a hidden 1860's era Shangri-La island in the South Atlantic. He is rescued from death by a mild young woman whose only agency appears when she is practicing healing arts.
Devoid of tension or insight into human behaviors.
But... I finished without skimming so that might justify 3 stars.

Couldn’t even get past a few sentences
My husband is laughing now - it’s an automated voice! I didn’t realize that when I started listening to it this morning, even though it’s so obvious now. I just knew I couldn’t listen to any more, even though I was so excited about it when I first downloaded it.
I’ll either find it with a different narrator or get the hard copies (or ebook) sometime.
Don’t be fooled by the (I hope) fake reviewers who say it has a great performance! Ridiculous. Horrendous way to listen to a book.
I gave Story & overall good ratings because I couldn’t leave them blank and am giving the benefit of the doubt for now.
