After walking through the portal in the Tower of Swallows and narrowly escaping death, Ciri finds herself in a completely different world...an Elven world. Time does not seem to exist and there are no obvious borders or portals to cross back into her home world. She is trapped.

But this is the child of prophecy, and she will not be defeated. She knows she must escape to finally rejoin the Witcher and his companions—and also to conquer her worst nightmare. Leo Bonhart, the man who chased, wounded, and tortured Ciri, is still on her trail. And the world is still at war.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"The universe of Sapkowski's The Witcher is one of the most detailed and best-explored in modern fantasy, offering endless opportunities for fresh ideas ... Complex character relationships enrich this already complex world; this is the sort of series fantasy fans will cherish."—B&N

"Delightful, intense, irreverent, and compelling....you have to read The Witcher books because they are rife with all of the elements that make you love fiction, and especially fantasy, in the first place....In a word, The Witcher delivers."—Hypable

"Like a complicated magic spell, a Sapkowski novel is a hodgepodge of fantasy, intellectual discourse, and dry humor. Recommended."—Time

I was so looking forward to the conclusion to the series and was disappointed with the ending. I also got confused.

Didn't like the end

What made the experience of listening to The Lady of the Lake the most enjoyable?

This is easily the best reading in the series. It's fun to listen through these books because you can really feel how Kenny grows. As far as the content, the book is worth listening to. He can be a little more wordy than I tend to like, but the story he paints is terrific.

What does Peter Kenny bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Yes, his character work in this book was terrific.

Peter Kenny Knocks it out of the Park

I'm approaching my fifth completion of this series and I am simply in love. I understand the complaints other reviewers have like the pacing, tangents, names, places - it can be overwhelming or unconnected. But the more the I partake in the world, the more I buy into it. There are clues, sometimes overt and other times covert, but clues nonetheless as to the links many of these characters have or may have in the future and you really feel the emotional and contextual attachments these characters have with one another but also with the author himself. You can feel his love for this story and justly so he builds this magnificent world, full of life and people and places and the nuanced attention to detail is entrancing. This series rewards the reader in this way. I mean to say that the author trusts us to be speculative and curious and notice these details so that when climatic shifts in the emotional yaw and pitch happen, we're able to fully appreciate and understand and answer the question on every reader's mind, "why do I care?". I recommend this series to anyone and everyone. The audiobook is masterfully done and the tone of voice is perfect. Peter Kenny, wherever you are, thank you for bringing these words into audio so I can listen to this while I work so that I never have to be too far away from this truly beautiful story. Andrzej Sapkowski, thank you for sharing this world and all the people in it, I'd be a lesser man without it.

Love the process, love the world.

This was absolutely a bittersweet yet fantastic finish to this beloved story of the witcher, Geralt of Rivia, and Child of Hope, Elder Blood, Destiny, etc. Ciri. Mr. Sapkowski wrote a phenomenal story that will go down in my classic favorites alongside Tolkien's Middle-Earth saga and Rowling's Harry Potter series.

The previous six audiobooks were performed amazingly by Peter Kenny and he finished it strong through the end. His ability to capture the voices and accents of this fantasy world was critical in my listening that during my work commutes, I was not in traffic. I was on the Continent.

Amazing story and performance well-deserving of every bit of star and your listen from the short stories / prequels through the main series' end.

I couldn't have expected better.

Sapkowski has done a great job blending fantasy and social commentary into a beautiful work of fiction while keeping it engaging and entertaining from start to finish.

A great ending to a fantastic series.

Frequent character flashbacks and convenient plot devices make this feel like one book that should have been too. So much shoehorned in. There also isn't much Witcher in this Witcher book.

Good, but feels rushed.

This series is great. This book in the series is an emotional one that tugs at the heart strings.
