Publisher's Summary

Dan West wonders which is more important to him: Helping his long-time friend win back his business after being accused of stealing money from the company, or coaching his 11-year-old son’s soccer team trying to win an improbable championship.

Money and prestige don’t motivate Dan. Rather, family, work and coaching soccer are the underpinnings of his life. He revels in the simple joys like hanging out with his wife Jill, mentoring a young lawyer at his firm, and watching the boys connect on three passes before drilling the ball into the back of the net.

Dan always knew to keep it steady - not to get too high or he might get knocked off his perch. And he did, until he and the boys’ soccer team achieved unimagined success. Before he can grasp how good he has it, tragedy rips a hole in his family.

James Rosenberg, author of the bestseller Legal Reserves, strikes a new chord in his exploration of what makes a life and how to put it back together after it is shattered.

The Jersey is a beautifully written, profoundly touching, and relatable story of love, loss, and the redemptive power of a group of motivated 11-year-old kids.

The Jersey

James F Rosenberg has written a beautiful story with The Jersey. I have to admit, I was not sure what to expect with this one. When I was about a third of the way through, I realized I just could not stop listening to the audio version of it. The combination of the author’s writing and the superb performance of Brian Avers’s narration, brought on numerous emotions from me. I found parts of it that just warmed my heart and others that just tore me to pieces and had to grab the tissues. What a wonderful read.
I highly recommend The Jersey for all readers. I loved it and would have given it one hundred stars if I could.
I received the audio version of this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

Another win for James Rosenberg

I started this book on a Friday and completed on Sunday, an easy listen the narration was good and the story was great. I read James' first book Legal Reserves and not having a legal background I really enjoyed listening to the case building up and hearing the trial unfold and this was the same, the case was not the focus of this book. This book was more about Dan and his family the story of his son and as you can tell from the name and the cover of the book about a soccer team. I enjoyed the book it made me smile, it made me cry and in the end, it made me feel good. It was an easy listen and I recommend it.

The Jersey Scores

James Rosenberg's beautiful story is delivered perfectly by Brian Avers. I listened, sometimes through tears, to the story and easily related to the people and the situations. The storytelling was excellent all around and would appeal to teenagers, young adults, parents and grandparents. Everyone should listen to this book!
