These are great listens, Jay Snyder is so good. Flew through this, can’t wait for the 3rd.

Can’t wait for the 3rd book

I liked this book…not quite as much as the first, but I liked it. I love the main character, and I hope we can look forward to him going back to being a “lone wolf” badass in the 3rd book.

mixed feelings

awesome story and execution. part of me rooting for derick. however part of me identifies with the rebels/patriots, especially in this day and age.

Lots of twists and turns

Derek seems real with his self doubts and family issues. So he’s not just another action hero. Writing and narration is great. My only nit is the last fight sequence which seemed to go on forever. Overall, a great read/ listen.

Definitely Will Read The Third Book

Enjoyed the story, the characters, and the action in it. There were a couple of unexpected events that made the story better. There were places where the narrative was overly descriptive which slowed the pace. I thought the frequent news updates on the Kentucky raid became monotonous. Three news reports over the time period would have sufficed. That part felt like filler. I also would have liked some explanation on how Derek didn't end up being the fall guy other than Jason and his boss were going to do what they could.

Overall, a solid 4.5 stars. Rounded up because the narration was great, and I think Derek has a lot of potential as a character. Looking forward to book 3.

to love the second and pine for the third! jay synder rocks….just a really good read….No it is not Tolstoy or Twain, but if you enjoy the genre - you will love this book!

Such a great series!

This is a new author to me, but I’ve read both books and they are excellent. I can’t wait for the next book of the series.
