As the first waves of injured bystanders, guardsmen, and rioters arrived at hospitals, it became apparent that a deadly new disease had been unleashed on the population. Whether the virus was naturally occurring or an escaped lab experiment, Cade hadn't a clue and wasn't especially concerned until he learned of its unprecedented virulence, unusual method of transference, and the fact that, according to the news, it brought the newly dead back to life, semi-mindless, and with an insatiable desire to feed on the flesh of the living.

Story
The Alt Apocalypse is the ground-breaking, genre-bending series from Tom Abrahams. It explores survival under the most extreme circumstances, but with a twist (and no cliff-hangers). This series, which can be listened to in any order, features the same core characters in each complete story. But every book dunks them into a new, alternate apocalypse; a nuclear holocaust, an earthquake, a flood, a wildfire, a hurricane, a plague, and even zombies.

KAREN IS 'EVERY' WOMAN!
Love Karen's strength, resolve and relentless single mindedness to protect her brood at any cost.
Wonder if Jim would have held up us well (all by himself) protecting his two precious daughters as Karen? Hmmm...
The "infected" series is spectacular, & If you are a diehard zombie enthusiast you will be quite pleased with this series.

Great second book!
Loved this book! Loved the switch to a female narrator due to the book being from a females prospective. The characters continued in their development and just sucked me in further. Both the author and narrarator did a fantastic job. I finished this book in a day and I work 45 -50 hours a week. Yes, i got very little sleep! Great book to add to your library but then your probably already sucked in as well because you have listened to the first book more than likely!
