Nick Bell? Not extraordinary. But being the most popular fan-fiction writer in the Extraordinaries fandom is a superpower, right? After a chance encounter with Shadow Star, Nova City’s mightiest hero (and Nick’s biggest crush), Nick sets out to make himself extraordinary. And he’ll do it with or without the reluctant help of Seth Gray, Nick's best friend (and maybe the love of his life).

When his mother became president, Alex Claremont-Diaz was promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, genius - his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There's only one problem: Alex has a beef with the actual prince, Henry, across the pond. And when the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an Alex-Henry altercation, US/British relations take a turn for the worse. Heads of family, state, and other handlers devise a plan for damage control: staging a truce between the two rivals.

In 1893, there's no such thing as witches. There used to be, in the wild, dark days before the burnings began, but now witching is nothing but tidy charms and nursery rhymes. If the modern woman wants any measure of power, she must find it at the ballot box. But when the Eastwood sisters - James Juniper, Agnes Amaranth, and Beatrice Belladonna - join the suffragists of New Salem, they begin to pursue the forgotten words and ways that might turn the women's movement into the witch's movement.

incredible 😍
It's a time for a recommendation. 🎧 Narrator score🎧 ; ok. It's an unknown narrator for me and I can say that I'm not disappointed at all.... somehow I was thinking that Derrick Mcclain could be fantastic for this book. (I probably imagined him in my mind since I read the blurb of this book, and waited for it.) But, the narrator was marvelous. and he brought to life every single character. Lucy was that boy that you expect him to be. And Sall my beloved little Sall (I will not write any spoilers, but he is my absolute favorite) Level of steam🔥: it's a clean book. Every single person even an homophobic person can probably read this book and he will not find it offensive. Level of anxiety and sadness😱😢: Its not a sad story. It's more a story about seeing the world as it is. I did felt melancholy in some parts of the book. And I did shed some tears.... but it's TJ and he will explain emotion like no one else. And it's me ....I'm a crybaby. The book itself📖: where to even begin? The biggest the expectation the even more bigger enjoyment. I know it's not the saying, but in this case it was what I felt. Yes it's a YA, but it is definitely for everyone. I think this book needs to become a book that we teach our children in schools. It's a book about the notion of reality, acceptance, understanding and about how words can harm but you can actually endure it and be stronger because of this specific reason. Every boy or girl in this book took a peace of my heart with them. And Lionel, this incredible man that thinks he's too ordinary discovered that he isn't. It's an incredible journey, and before I'll conclude my words. I want to say to Tj thank you for the songs you chosen. I maybe only 29, but I was given the biggest musical ejection that a girl could be given and the reason that it took me 2 and a half days to finish this book was, because I was stopping the book and listened to the songs. It was absolutely another delight from this incredible story teller

Good Story Line
The cause of the two star rating deals primarily with the narrator. I guess this is classified as young teen book. It does not have to be but the narrator used a tone and methodology which is intended for those 12 years old and younger. I found this quite disgusting and distracting. Just read the words with out the infantile inflection. The story itself has fairly good substance and good world building. The characters are worth remembering but not as the narrator has depicted. I might listen to another book by this author but I will not listen to any other book with this same narrator. I am disappointed in the presentation.

I want this to be in the screens!
I love this. For the sake of comparison, this gives me a touch of ghibli, a touch of Tim Burton, and a heavy load of TJ. It was "more youngster appropriate" than the other books published by the same author (considering a different target audience) but that did not undermine the feels the book gives. In this book, we follow how Linus learn to live instead of being alive. How he went against his principles to find love not only to the Master, the kids but also himself. Can I also add that at one point in the story, I felt as if I was Christopher Robin stumbling into the Hundred Acre Woods and met Pooh and his friends? That's how amazing this book is, Its heartwarming, children friendly and with a lot of family-love. And I have to say, I ADORE Sal. Daniel Henning did an amazing job in voicing the different characters in the book (and there was a LOT of characters). How he portrays the different personalities of the kids was amazing. His narration felt as if I was watching an animated movie on the screen and he singlevoicedly *pun intended* dubbed all the characters in the film. That is indeed an amazing feat. Kudos to Daniel for his works in this book.

I knew I wouldn't be disappointed with a TJ Klune book. It was everything a great book should be. I was worried about a new narrator to the Kluneverse family, but Daniel Henning did a spectacular job. I will forever cherish Chauncey! The writing, the message, the characters, the voices... it was all just perfect. Thank you TJ for working so hard, TOR, Daniel Henning and everyone involved in this wonderful story.

Wonderful!
This was TJ's first book with a new publisher, and of course, it's wonderful! I honestly can't imagine anything he writes would disappoint me. HE made me fall in love with the people in this story. I don't know how he manages it, but he always does. You care what happens to these extrordinary people. For the life of me, I can't figure out what time period the story takes place, but I suspect it is not a time ever encountered on this Earth. Nevertheless, it all just works. I do hope we get to revisit this world. The narrator did a fantastic job of coming up with unique voices for each of the characters. he conveyed the emotion of every scene. I laughed and cried along with all of them. Oh just stop reading my prattle and go listen to the book! You will love it.

Delightfully written. A wonderful story about a group of misfit orphans and the misfit sent to evaluate their home. Themes of friendship, acceptance, and understand permeate throughout. The characters are unforgettable, and the setting utterly believable from page one. A winner. Daniel Henning's narration is captivating. Every character breathes its own breath.

Thank you, T,J. Klune
As I first started listening to this story, I wondered if I had preordered the wrong book. But no, it was written by T.J. Klune and it was LGBTQ, so why did it seem like I was listening to a children's book? It's not a kids' book, though there are parts that many children would love and I can imagine myself curling up beside my grandson/daughter and reading it to them much like Peter Falk ala Princess Bride. But mostly, I think it's because this book appealed to the child in me. It reached a place of innocence, wonder, and playfulness that I haven't experienced in a very long time - and I loved every minute of it.

A wonderfully story of hope and found family.
The House in the Cerulean Sea is a masterpiece that is a simply perfect read in these uncertain times. It’s themes revolve around acceptance, inclusivity, love and found family. It is a story for adults as much as it is for children twelve and above. There is much to learn here and much to be taught. I adored every beautifully written word and the narration was spectacular. The narrator’s choice of voices are perfection and delightfully highlighted each characters personality. I can not recommend this novel and audiobook more highly.

The House on the Cerulean Sea is the book we need right now. It's so uplifting and hopeful, with such rich characters and beautiful use of language. Daniel Henning beings it to life spectacularly. The voice for each character is perfect and when his voice broke with emotion in one of the final scenes, I sighed in happiness. Yes TJ, I do wish I was there.

Literal serotonin in a book
This book is sweet. It is heartwarming. It is gay. And it features a call to revolution for the marginalised. It is literally the perfect book. And its narrated by perhaps the best voice actor audible has ever had.

Beautiful, touching, and a joy to listen to
First up, the story is fantastic. It's sweet and heartwarming, without being cliche or predictable. It was the perfect thing to pick up during this state of social distancing, because this book remembers the good in the world, and in humanity. I listened to this book over the course of a few nights before going to sleep, each time staying up a little later to hear the end of a chapter. Last night, I sat and listened to the last 5 and a half hours in one go. I couldn't help it - I needed to see the end, to make sure it ended happily for everyone. Never before have I been so invested in the happiness of characters. This book is also fantastic for David Henning's performance. He does an excellent job with all the different voices, which really did bring the story to life.

Engaging LGBT story, that focuses on the story
A stunning range by the narrator, amazing performance of so many personalities, consistent, and engaging. A fantastic story, about an eclectic, marginalised group of magical children, and how they and their adult guardians alike can still find family. It's a wonderful representation of queer literature as well, not focusing at all on 'coming out' or 'overcoming being put down by the system and culture'. Don't get me wrong, these are important stories, that need to be told and share. Sometimes though, you just want other stories you can relate to; with characters living out their lives, surviving the other struggles life has for us, without the reminder of being "different" in quite that way. It starts with a grouchy neighbour acknowledging your same-sex preference, and therefore trying to hook you up with a relative... From there onwards, it handles the blossoming LGBT romances with tact, a very PG love story - as it should be, there are children present after all.

Best book I've listened to in ages!
I absolutely loved this book. The narrator was amazing and I loved all of the characters voices so much. The story was wonderfully quirky and right up my alley. I hope this author might write a sequel! I would love to know what happens next.

Best narrator I’ve ever listened to
Literally by far the best narration I’ve ever heard, he managed to do a different incredibly distinct voices for every single character including the women. 10/10

Incredible!
A beautiful warm book full of laughter and family. It felt like hot chocolate on a Winter's night in front of a fire. It may be one of my favorites. Read with caution as you may be unable to stop listening!

Wonderful, wholesome and just what I needed
It's very rare that I feel the need to recommend a book so wholeheartedly that I want to scream it from the rooftops; so when I say that "The House in the Cerulean Sea" by TJ Klune was a balm for my bruised and battered soul, please, believe me. There are books I read for a laugh and there are books I read to pass the time, some I read because of the author and others... very rare ones, I read based solely on the reviews. This book made a little part of me feel hope again. The world right now is hard... it's flat and tired and just plain shit. This book woke up my heart and gave me a wonderful feeling of joy - simply joy. It's hard to describe this book without gushing about it but it's honestly wonderful and whimsical and so perfectly wholesome. Read it... listen to it... let it take you on a journey. I will be thinking about this book for a long time and if you do end up getting it I recommend the audiobook version because the narrator - Daniel Henning - made it so special! I can officially add crying over a button to the list of things I have shed tears over and I have no regrets.

if I could give more than 5 stars I would
First of all, the narrator is a star; I will be looking up more of Daniel Henning's work because he brought these characters to life. And what a life they have! TJ Klune built a world that I would love to visit again. I hope very much he writes more in the future. Linus is a beautiful person who doesn't realise he's special and wasn't at any stage oversimplified or 'fixed'. He doesn't come to some grand realisation but rather, quietly grows and blooms throughout the story. I won't spoil it, give it a go yourself!

Delightful book, excellent performance
This book is a delight. TJ Klune's writing style draws out easy smiles and Daniel Henning is a superb voice actor. The whole book felt like a warm hug and reminds us of the work we all need to do in this reality. Alright, now I am off to go read/listen to everything else they have ever done.
