"Daniel Henning is a great narrator for this quirky and theatrical audiobook.... Henning revels in a cornucopia of characters, diving into nuanced voices and colorful moments with accents and growls, tone shifts and whispers.... This is definitely a title for those who enjoy fantasy stories replete with gnomes and witches and all in between." (AudioFile Magazine)

Lambda Literary Award-winning author TJ Klune's breakout contemporary fantasy

Linus Baker is a by-the-book case worker in the Department in Charge of Magical Youth. He's tasked with determining whether six dangerous magical children are likely to bring about the end of the world.

Arthur Parnassus is the master of the orphanage. He would do anything to keep the children safe, even if it means the world will burn. And his secrets will come to light.

The House in the Cerulean Sea is an enchanting love story, masterfully told, about the profound experience of discovering an unlikely family in an unexpected place - and realizing that family is yours.

This book was a sweet and poignant story about found family and fighting injustice, and love and discovery. The narration was wonderful, and I look forward to reading more from this author.

A bad narrator can ruin even the best books. Daniel Henning is... passable. His voices are okay, but his narration is robotic. It's like he learned voice acting from William Shatner.

If I'd been reading this myself it would have been 5 stars. The story is quirky and adorable with a cast of loveably weird characters. I love stories of found families so this was right up my alley.

Great story but meh narrator

I chose this book for my book club. I need something last minute and honestly didn't put much thought behind it. I'm so glad I did. this book left my heart full and happy. It was a silly charming story with a message. it is everything we need in this world right now. the audio was good. I would have preferred a more grown up sound, but this was intended for a younger audience than myself. I ask sure my children will appreciate the audio.

everything I needed in 2020

Beautifully written and wonderfully imagined. A very entertaining listen thanks to the narrator’s deft touch with a variety of voices. It’s rare to come across a book that shines from start to finish like this one does, with no false steps.

Delightful

This book shows the best and worst of any society through lively and unique characters that are wholly out of this world yet relatable. Whether this is a beginning or just a story all it's own, it is so beautiful I know it will be a story I listen to over and over.

I Wish I Was There!
