Publisher's Summary

He could have the world, yet he's looking at me like I am his world.

You don’t know me, but you do know me. I’m your neighborhood hot-mess single mom, doing my best to keep my head above water while running my little slice of heaven and keeping my youngest from shoving marbles up his nose - which is exactly what he’s doing the first time Levi Wilson, pop star god, world’s sexiest man, and my all-time number-one celebrity obsession, walks into my bookstore.

Related: I’m writing this from beyond the grave, because I’ve died of mortification and am now residing in an alternate universe. I have to be. Because Levi Wilson came back. And we had a moment. Like, a moment-moment. The kind that makes me remember that adult pleasure isn’t all about hoping the lock holds in the bathroom so your kids don’t interrupt on the rare occasion you feel like taking an extra-long mommy-time shower.

So when he proposes a no-strings fling? Count. Me. In. Thrill of a lifetime, right? Surely, nothing will go wrong....

The Hot Mess and the Heartthrob is a rockin’ fun, sexy romantic comedy featuring a celebrity panty-melter who doesn’t know what he’s been missing, a sassy single mom hanging on by a string, three adorable children who would never burst in on a woman when she’s on a toilet (ha!), and shameless ovary-busting moments between a guy who never thought he’d be a dad and a family who thought they got along just fine without him. It stands alone and comes complete with a happily-ever-after.

Humor, heart, and yes, hot messes

This story was a wonderful mix of humor and heart, things I’ve come to expect from a Pippa Grant story. The duet narration by Summer Robert’s and Tyler Donne was spot on. I loved this story when I first read it but hearing Pippa’s words always take them to the next level. Ingrid was a character I think most people can relate to - someone trying their best, feeling overwhelmed, and afraid they are failing those they love who depend on us. Levi as the pop star with everything but realizing he wants more was vulnerable. I loved watching him realize through his relationship with single mom Ingrid everything his own mom went through as a single mom herself. I loved the cameos from other folks in the Copper Valley world. Such a wonderful story and great listen, I highly recommend!!

For all the moms who do it all

A delightful funny story with three kids keeping mom on juggling to keep it together. And a pop star that may just have found home. I enjoyed the voice the narrators had even for the kids. If you’re already a Pippa Grant fan, you will appreciate the guest appearance.

A love story for every woman

I cannot begin to express to you how much I loved this book. For any woman whose love language is Acts of Service, this is going to be a box of veritable Godiva. With blue eyes and OMG abs. Ingrid is so freaking relatable, even if you're not a single mom of three because she represents Everywoman who is out there having to run everybody else's life at the exclusion of her own. Third shift mental load to the extreme. And Levi is just the guy to help in a kind, thoughtful way that isn't disrespectful. Favorite Pippa Grant ever. I know I say that every time, but I think this one's really it.

5 stars

This was such a cute, funny and sexy story. Being a single parent can be challenging and when you meet someone that can help you without making your life more complicated or difficult, it’s a blessing. This story was well done, with a HEA.

An unexpected delight.

I have to get this off my chest, I’m not a big fan of duet style. Summer Roberts and Tyler Donne are capable narrators, but for me, the story made the whole book for me. I personally wasn’t into the narration, but Pippa Grant wrote a trope I’m not terribly into in such a good way. I just love her writing.

Levi is a treasure. I just love all the Bro Code guys and their families. There’s just this charm that’s overwhelming. I adore it. Then you get me with a little bit of a fate angle and yes, I am here for this coupling.

Ingrid, despite her valid hang ups was truly the star here. I love how Levi didn’t make her feel less of a woman and challenged her to own it. It took time, but when a woman has so much going on and is so used to it, the imposter syndrome hits hard.

And in true Pippa Grant fashion, you have some really wacky moments, but at the core, you have these lovely characters. What a fun read.

Loved the story

While I truly loved the story of Levi and Ingrid, in the sense that it is a more realistic story of blended families, and I liked the idea of the narrators inter mingling in the chapters, the acting or interaction between the two were obviously scripted it sound hokey and phoney. not that I'm an expert but it was hard to really enjoy.

Love, kids, crazy life, and a squirrel

I love everything this author writes and I expect to always laugh out loud several times while listening but this book blew me away. I fell in love with Levi Wilson simply because even though he is a star and hot as the sun on a hot August day he sees Ingrid and he falls for her even though she is a hot mess and her kids are all a little bit of a handful. This book is beyond funny. There are so many things to mention and I wouldn't want to ruin it for you but it is great from start to finish. There are family and friends and moms that have been there and done that so they know how Ingrid feels. There are all the hot boys from Bro Code and their families and it is all what anyone would want. Love, just lots and lots of love.

Summer Roberts and Tyler Donne are terrific. Summer does all the female parts and Tyler does all the male and together they bring this book to life and it was so enjoyable to listen to.

I loved this book and highly recommend it. It is one I will listen to again as I enjoyed it that much.

Lots of Heart

While listening to this one I couldn't see my way to an HEA with the main characters leading such very different lives. You can't imagine how they can come together. But fear not this is a Pippa romance and all always ends in an HEA. The characters were very endearing and the children were so funny and sweet. This felt super wholesome compared to some of her other books and it was definitely a lot of heart in the mix. I think any single mom would really relate to all of the stuff going on in this book and trying to balance having a life beyond being a mother. I can't imagine it myself. The Heartthrob was a really sweet guy and I knew he would fall for those adorable children. Overall it was a very enjoyable listen.

Hot mess single mom!!

I am a single mom and this book had me laughing and crying and appreciating my kids even more. The kids in this book are crazy and wild but loveable. I really enjoyed the journey this hot mess single mom and a pop star go through. It just shows you how….. when it’s right, it’s right!! And even though she tries to do it all and not ask for help, she’s doing the best she can. She doesn’t realize at the start, this pop star comes with a whole entourage. They all become family and willing to help out with anything with anytime.

This was so welcome

Finally a book where the main character doesn’t have her stuff together can admit it and still gets the guy. Yes my prayers have been answered. These characters were so well done and I loved the kids and the squirrel and even the description of the types of mothers.

This is me I am a hot mess mother and I loved every second of this book

I love all Pippa’s characters!!

I love all the characters in Pippa’s books, and this one is no different. This book has a lot of interaction with the kids. Low angst. Great family relationships and values. This is not the typical rich guy buys everything for the girl in need book. The narration was ok. Tyler has a good reading voice but I didn’t feel like his voice was a good fit for Levi’s character/personality. I definitely recommend this book! 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

Ah Levi!

Ingrid bookstore owner, single mom of three has the one person enter her store she never expected to see. Levi Wilson, popstar who years before saw her sign she held up at a concert. Now divorced with three kids, she is crazy busy trying to keep her life on track, and now this man comes to town and shows a persistent interest. He has no intention of settling down, but if he can spend some time with this fascinating woman, he is all in. Until he falls not only for her, but for the kids. Will Ingrid and Levi be able to find a happily ever after? First, I love Pippa Grant's integration of characters from other books and series. The Thrusters are a nice touch, and melted my heart. But that is not all that makes this book. It's a refreshing change from a woman who is put together and successful searching for her man. Ingrid is a mess, someone any mom can relate to! She doesn't ask for forgiveness for her mess either. It's who she is, and the stress of being everything to her business and kids definitely takes a toll. There are laugh out loud moments that I absolutely loved. Levi is sweet, and I love his personality. He is easy going and just makes everyone at ease. And with the kids, I was just swooning. It's funny, it's romantic, it's messy, all the things I love and enjoyed.

Summer Roberts and Tyler Donne are a fabulous team and their story telling was amazing. Spot on comedic timing and voices that fit the characters I fell into the story and felt that warmth in my heart. It's a fantastic addition to the Bro Code series.
