Not an enjoyable listen

What would have made The Hollow Bone better?

The reading appeared to be computer generated. I'ts a reasonably good technology, but completely inappropriate for this content.

Could not get through the content

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The computer generated voice had no intonation or emotion white reading.

Good book -- horrible narrator

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would change the narrator -- she sounds almost robotic. Terrible choice of voice for this book!

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Arika Escalona?

The author or someone with a voice personality.

Informative

This was exactly what I was looking for as an introduction to shamanism. It seemed well researched, authentic, and thorough. Narrator was fine. I would recommend to anyone interested in learning about this topic.

Good information

Interesting and promotes looking inward while answering questions about modern shamans and practices. When finished, your new understanding may entise starting from the beginning to see what was missed.

Great intro to Shamanism

The book is a well balanced and interesting intro to shamanism. It's worth a listen even when you had some encounters with the subject.
The narrators voice is very agreeable, a worthwhile listen if you're a beginner or intermediary and like a broader, cross culture perspective and practical tips
