Publisher's Summary

They call him the Demon Highlander. The fearsome Lieutenant Colonel Liam MacKenzie is known for his superhuman strength, towering presence, and fiery passion in the heat of battle. As laird to the MacKenzie clan, the undefeated marquess has vanquished his foes with all the rage and wrath of his barbaric Highland ancestors. But when an English governess arrives to care for his children, the master of war finds himself up against his greatest opponent...in the game of love.

Defying all expectations, Miss Philomena is no plain-faced spinster but a ravishing beauty with voluptuous curves and haughty full lips that rattle the laird to his core. Unintimidated by her master's raw masculinity and savage ways, the headstrong lass manages to tame not only his wild children but the beast in his soul. With each passing day, Liam grows fonder of Miss Mena - and more suspicious. What secret is she hiding behind those emerald eyes? What darkness brought her to his keep? And how can he conquer this magnificent woman's heart...without surrendering his own?

Great series - hoping there is more to come!

Any additional comments?

This is the third book in the series, all are excellent alone and outstanding as a series. There is more coming in print PLEASE bring them to Audible too! Amazing strong men who have a weakness for strong but soft women. The characters you love come back in the each story, weaving a continuous tale. Romance, humor, passion, and a scared past with dark secrets all come together in these books in perfect harmony. Perkns brings the characters alive with his consistent narration. He does a suburb job of men, women, and children's voices. Not too predictable, the stories have a few twists and suprises. Byrne's lyrical discriptions are unique in romance novels. She paints a picture of emotions--just sit still and enjoy.

A Fabulous Read and a Wondrous Listen

Would you consider the audio edition of The Highlander to be better than the print version?

I absolutely adorer this audio edition. I find that when I listen, I catch more than having read the written word. Maybe it's the inflection of the emphasis on certain things. Just so good!

What other book might you compare The Highlander to and why?

Of course this book it a perfect follow up to The Highwayman and The Hunter

What about Derek Perkins’s performance did you like?

Mr. Perkins is PERFECT for Kerrigan Byrne's characters. He has an innate understanding of them

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Sheer Brilliance

Delectable Perfection

Kerrigan Byrne's writing becomes more irresistible with each book. The narrator of this book kept me captivated and willing as I shirked all other duties and surrendered my full attention to this heartbreakingly beautiful love story. Prepare yourself for The Demon Highlander!

Another great one from KB

Narrator: Derek Perkins does a great job as usual on these books.

Really liked this one. This series is pretty good. Love the bad boys gone good ((Well not really good but how they care for their women and kids) in each of these.
The very last part of this book was GREAT!
Love how characters from the earlier books come and lend a hand at the end.

Author must have Never Been Raped😡😡😡

I'm quite angry. As a woman who was violated as a child & young teen then date raped as a young lady, I'm absolutely APPALED with this book. Did I mention my anger? There is no bloody this woman would have gone from horrible abuse & rape towards acquience to a man who "held her face so firmly there was no escape". The hell?!?! That's ridiculous. 😱 There was no forming of a relationship nor deep abiding trust but up at all between at that point either.

Aaarrrgghhh! 😡😡😡

The Highlander

Loved just loved this Audible the love the secrets but,it felt like the children in the story kinda took a back seat at the end...it's like the author wanted to finish quickly and forgot about all the characters she had invented. I have listened to this series 2X now nice very nice love the blackness of the men the dark haunting in the characters. Ok now I have something to say to Audible : in the romance package you let us get into a series; book 1'2'3 to make us buy the last 2 to finish....NOT COOL. It makes me not get into some books just because that...this series is not the only one Audible has done this.

Highland Novel Without So Much Blood and Gore!

If you could sum up The Highlander in three words, what would they be?

Very Unusual Concept

Have you listened to any of Derek Perkins’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Derek Perkins is a great narrator for Highlanders and British. He is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Any additional comments?

I love series books and that is why I purchased this one. I hope to read more in this series.

Her Highlander

Another awesome book to the series with a great narrator. Mena who we met in the Hunter book is back as the heroine in need of help. Mena has been committed to a mental hospital by her abusive husband. When she thought all lost Blackwell and Argent come to her rescue. She is then sent to the Highlands and to Lt. Colonel Liam MacKenzie, Blackwells half brother.

She becomes the Governess to the Demon Highlanders children. As she gets to know the family a great evil lurks in the castle. She becomes who she is meant to be a woman with gumption. Liam knows she is keeping secrets but so is he. As they grow closer so does the evil within. Another great book by Kerrigan Byrne and Derek Perkins does an excellent work making the book come to life.
