An abandoned mansion. A restless spirit. A terrible secret...

Fleeing a recent tragedy, antiques expert Katherine seeks refuge in Blackstone, Oregon, a tiny town nestled in the shadow of majestic Mt. Hood. But her sanctuary soon becomes a nightmare when she stumbles upon the long-abandoned Blackstone mansion, its dark halls whispering with secrets.

As Katherine explores the labyrinthine rooms filled with priceless antiques, she realizes she's not alone. In the shadows, she can see the tiniest movements, feel the deepest chills, and hear the faintest sounds. The restless spirit of a young woman reaches out to her, desperate to be heard.

Determined to help put the ghost to rest, Katherine delves into the mansion's tragic past. With the aid of unlikely new friends, she uncovers a history of jealousy, unrequited love, and murder. But the truth is far more sinister than she could have imagined.

Caught in a dangerous web of lies and deception, Katherine's time is running out. The spirits of Blackstone mansion are awakening, and they hunger for more than just justice. To free the ghost and save herself, Katherine must confront the darkness within the mansion's walls – even if it costs her her sanity... or her life.

In this chilling tale of supernatural suspense, the past refuses to stay buried, and the line between the living and the dead blurs with every passing shadow.

I didn’t like the AI reading the story. It lacks human like qualities. Also idk how everyone sounded British and they were from Oregon and New York. The story was amazing and I can’t wait to read the next one.

Love the book hate the narration.

The story itself is interesting and I enjoyed the mystery. The AI narration was not good at all. The characters in the the story are in Oregon and with the exception of one, are all American. The AI decided that a British accent would be appropriate for all the characters. And I do mean ALL the characters as the AI made no distinction between male and female voices. The dialogue between characters was all in the same voice and AI was stilted in the speech pattern or how people actually speak when having a conversation. The author indicates who is speaking, but in moments where it is not mentioned, it got a little confusing. Overall I like the story and will continue to the next book, but they should have hired someone to do the narration instead of using an AI generated voice.

The book is pretty good. The AI narration is terrible.

The story was not half bad but the narration by virtual voice was very disappointing. It was like listening to maps telling me which street to take next. Narration by a human with emotion would have made the book for me much better.
Sorry but virtual voice is something I will stay away from when purchasing an audible book.

Slow moving

The part of the plot about being thrown out of the apartment in an hour or the mansion owner not vouching for Kat too annoying and far fetched. The ghost story part was well written. Overall plot was good.

Horrible Virtual Voice Narration and bits of the plot were a bit unlikely
