With Verassis finally secured, Marcus hoped for some downtime. Unfortunately for him and his party, they have to rush off to yet another kingdom. Sonaria is under assault, and Marcus may be the only one that can save them. However, their party will not be the same.

Mavis breaks away, rushing to find a cure for Marcus's plaguing wound. Her journey will take her to a separate kingdom, and a discovery that will change their fate moving forward. Will she be able to keep in touch with Marcus and the others, or will her problems spiral out of control?

Without missing a beat, Marcus leaves for Sonaria. With Quin left in charge of the city, he will need to establish laws and advisors to further expand their influence. An army will be born, and commanders chosen as the city prepares for the inevitable battle. All the while, new friends move to the spotlight, waiting to show that they are worthy of being called Marcus's Guards. Can they live up to the expectations of Tallia and the others? Or will they break before they can shine?

This book contains unconventional relationships.
