Steamy story

Easy to love! Well written and narration was on point! A little conflict, story twists, and romance.

Not impressed

I love Helena Hunting’s Pucked Series but this one just fell short for me. The story was just ok, not the funny quirky style I prefer from Helena.

Second Chance Done Right!

I'm a hardcore Helena Hunting fan and spent the best chunk of my August binge-reading her Shacked Up series (SO GOOD y'all), so I figured it was long overdue for me to read Good Luck Charm. I don't know what took me so long to read it - especially since I preordered it AND her hockey themed sports romances (the Pucked series) is what made me fall in love with Helena Hunting's writing, but I'm glad I finally picked it up (and proceeded to devour it). From the way we meet Lilah (who is really going through some ish which is really relatable, but she's also a bit older than the heroines in the Pucked series so that also makes it easier for me to relate to her), to the real life situations that she and Ethan were facing, to the lush bittersweetness that draws me to second chance romance time and time again (and that HH delivers so masterfully), and the HEAT and HEART that embody all of her books - Good Luck Charm had me enthralled from the first page to the last. I'm not usually real big on angst in my romance but the true to life and low level of the angst here was entirely palatable and appropriate. And now my pump is totally primed for A Lie For A Lie next month so that I can get more hockey hotness! 5 out of 5 wine glasses.

Wow!

Another amazing story from Helena Hunting. The characters are ones that you want to be friends with. The story draws you in from the jump. It was fabulous. Hot. Funny. And filled with emotion.

Love this book!

I love a good love story especially when it’s got to do with sports. The narrators were great too.

Second Chance Romance at its best!

Okay, now I need to go back and see if I can find mention of our male lead in this book, Ethan, because it says that he played in Chicago with our favorite hockey boys in the Pucked series. But anyway, he's a bit older, and so it was a nice second chance type of romance. It started out great, I loved how we got two chapters from each character in a row, but then it soon moved to mostly Delilah. With a short chapter from Ethan thrown in when it was necessary to get his side of the story. I loved all the characters in the book though. Loved Ethan's dad talking about being a grower rather than a shower. We got a very slow burn between Ethan and Delilah, once she finally decided to let him have a second chance. I identified a lot with the whole second chance part of the story, being older myself, I'd love to have certain guys from my past show back up and try something again with them. Not all of them, just a few that I'd be willing to try with. But then again, I'm at a stage in my life and career that I could be okay with devoting a lot of my time to the other person. Unlike Delilah who was just now starting to work on moving her career forward with grad school. Some other things I really liked were how mature Ethan was when Delilah needed to call a "break" or pause as the chapter title says. I was very impressed with that. It shows that the author was taking into consideration the age of the characters and being realistic as opposed to just adding drama for drama's sake. I liked the twist at the end. Didn't see it coming, although I had been guessing at what that person could possibly be adding to the story enough to have such a big part. While this isn't a series, as far as I know, I would definitely love a book for Delilah's sister Carmen and Dr. Lovely. I need to go hint to the author on social media that she should do that.

Sweat and Sexy listen

Helena Hunting is an auto-download for me. This was a sweet and simple book. Not as funny as the Pucked Series or as Deep as the Clipped Wings Series (those two are my favs.) But overall a good simple story, a very easy listen.

almost didn't finish cus characters irritated me

I almost didn't finish cus characters irritated me so much. they redeem themselves a little by end of book but the selfishness and immaturity of the leading man coupled with the lack of backbone from the leading lady had me grinding my teeth. and if either character 'ran their finger down the bridge' of the others nose one more time, I might have completely lost it. total gag reflex over the OVERUSE of this endearment/encouragement. I love Helena Huntinb and she's an auto buy for me, but this book was not in the same caliber as her others.
