do I have to pay extra to get a good audio-quality in an AUDIO book?¿

I stuck around from the first book to see where the plot leads, can’t say love it, but I can’t really say I hate it eather (mho: its a bit of a too light of a reading for young adults books, and may have been intended for teenage audience, with plot points that are convenient for every new discovery of main cast, that definitely won’t come up unsaved no matter what happens, everything is just modern enough to be „relatable“ and yet old and mythical when we don’t have enough time, with mythical creatures that are suprised by mythical things(that definitely didn’t make me slap my forehead more then a couple of times) with every other character that folds (sometimes literally) before the main fem lead, including the male lead, and we have to grab as many clinches as possible, buT- I am here cos I liked the cover and was interested to in Korean mythology, so oh well)

BUT i actually started to fall in live with a story because of the start by the first narrator - Intae Kim : voice was deep, serious but dreamy enough and captured the atmosphere perfectly, and I could get every word efordlessly, and he had no problem with doing the fame voices appropriately as well, so I could easily immerse myself in the atmosphere. (mind you - the only narrator available in the preview)

Hence, I bought the title, and theeen next chapter starts with Greta Jung.. audio jumps up a beat, and yet its not clear enough, so u get that echoy feeling that first made me to double check if it was not ai completely - it wasn’t, and I don’t hate the VOICE of her, but how its processed : echoee, uncentered, not clear enough to listen at normal speed, compared to previous deep and rich spacial audio, and downright annoying with constant volume change, so I listened to the whole thing on 1,25-1,75 so it wont be do noticable. The Sokkas voice attempt is what I definitely did not like at all(at this point just read normally, don’t add a cough-like voice so I have to struggle even more to understand you).

And theeeen we get to the second book where ofcourse the audio woulb be better and these issues would be fixed, riiight?

how can you sound so much like ai and yet somehow worse??? aside from dry narration, I had to rewind on more parts then I wish to just to hear everything
(and before you start - backoff : my earphones are latest airpods are not an exuse for lack of audio post-production, and Ive listened to more then 30 titles on here - THE ISSUE IS ONLY WITH THESEE BOOKS)

first chapter right off the bet - constant audio level change, no clarity, no spacial recognition (this might as well be my bf writing me a voice memo on her dusty mike) and even at 1,75 speed ITS NOTICEABLE AND ANNOYING AF.

Why would I pay for an audiobook that has no attention to audio production itself??? or better to say does it really good HALF of the time, and unbearably terrible every other chapter, just so u know how good can it be and right when you get used to it slap ya outta it

I seriously might have dropped this book altogether, since for me, as an exclusively audiobook listener - audio-quality is important (surprise), and this is not a book that I would suffer to dedicate my undevided attention to read through physically, but apparently you cant get refunds if you buy the book with actual money, instead of credits, so im literally forced to suffer till the end.

Idk if its on aAudible, Voiceactress or Postproduction team, оr yall just can’t for the life of u edit women’s voices here - but this is disappointing to see the least.
I would hope this issue would be fixed, and wish I could just return the book, cos I definitely won’t listen to it again.

on a side note (spoilery) first books antagonist is Somi and the next one is Sumi??¿?? or Sumin, and they both have bubly uthfull personalities, last one is just a bit more angry?? just tell me u can’t name women at this point (I have a separate bone to pick with names being extra cutesy, but I guess if it comes off that way in english, doesn’t mean it would work that way in Korean, so feels unrightfull to hate it, but I reserve my right to be annoyed by every merry-suey character with a cutesy or food related name)

anyways, don’t judge a book by its cover, and for god sake if there is 2 voice-actors let us listen to them BOTH, I’m just glad to be done with it.
