After years of revenge-seeking driven by heartache, Lord Adam Callahan is finally content. All is as it should be as he and Daphne prepare to enjoy Christmas with their family.

However, their newfound happiness is threatened when a youthful misdeed comes back to haunt Adam - one that will change their lives forever.

Perfect story, perfect narrator!

I'm not a big fan of audiobooks in general. I've started listening to some and had to stop because the voice reading did not match the story being told. It either made it boring, unintentionally funny, or downright uncomfortable in the past to the point I swore off audiobooks.

Until now.

The gift is a wonderful follow-up to the Villian duology. Coupled with Darcy Stark's powerful, sensual, and entertaining narration, it was easy to just put on my headphones and let the story take me away. And I have to say, Mr. Stark is now on my short list of people I'd pay to read the phone book to me.

In short, this was the audiobook that gives me hope and will encourage me to try them out again!

The giving of a Gift or many Gifts

The Gift – by Victoria Vale Narrated by Darcy Stark

I find that audio books always open your eyes and often you are able to absorb more of the story even if you have read it before.

The Gift as with any book written by Victoria Vale and narrated by Darcy Stark, I did absorb or hear so much more and I realized maybe it should have been called The Gifts. Listening to Darcy Stark narrate this story showed me that there had not been one Gift in this story but many.

Gifts that were subtle, given in love, given as advice, given to show acceptance and one given because it was the right thing to do. Amongst hurt, anger, acceptance and love.

Honestly, probably one of the best gifts was Darcy Stark narrating this, he is so aware of how Victoria Vale writes and he gives so much to the characters that you just become one with the experience and time that it takes evaporates, before you know it the story is done and you now know that you too were given The Gift.

I was given a copy of this audiobook for reviewing and the review consists of my own thoughts and words.

His Her’s always

I am so happy that Victoria wrote this continuation of Adam and Daphne’s story to see them settled but still with angst at times. The twist she wrote gave these characters time to grow again and become more who they need. I could continue to read their story and see if they have another child together. To see the changes they make while still having that undying connection to complete each other. Be aware that this story has adult content and triggers for some. It is a 5 on steam level for spicy.

Amazing as always!

I've enjoyed every book in this series so far! I hope there will be sequels to The Butterfly and The Damsel, I would love to hear what happens next with each of those couples.

I loved it

I loved it!

I read all the Villain books, this is the only one I listened and I must say I'm definitely not sorry. Darcy's voice is lovely, and the voice of Adam....can't start to describe it - just melts your insides!

Scorching and sexy, the story describes the life of Adam and Daphne( Olivia and Niall too) and everything that happens two years after their elopement. New members of the family are included too. After the utopic picture of family life, a not too good surprise for Adam and Daphne happens. How will the problem be solved, how will Daphne take on this big change for the family...
With the unexpected end of the story we see how much the Hartmoors have come to love, support and count on each other. Two strong characters that clash, but always find a way back to each other.

You have all the emotions you could describe in life included in the book, as Victoria Vale's specialty.

I recomend the audiobook with all my heart.
It could be read standalone but better read the first books in the series for better understanding the Gift and the relationship between the main characters .

Powerful And Intense Romance 🔥

This is a well written story and such a show of how strong and enduring love is!
Lady Daphne and her husband Adam, the Earl of Hartmoor.
They have had a very tumultuous beginning. They have been happily married, because their love was and is stronger than what they have been through.
They are in Adam’s Scottish castle. They are going to celebrate Christmas with their beautiful baby girl and Adams sister and husband with their own children.
Adam received a disturbing notice and leaves without explanation.
This is a richly detailed plot! I absolutely love this Author!. This entire series will captivate you and have you on a roller coaster of emotions!

A very entertaining story

This was a short but extremely entertaining story. Something has cropped up that could cause problems for Adam and Daphne. There are some very steamy moments and some heartfelt scenes. Oh my! the Christmas dinner scene had me in tears. I love the way that the author is able to convey the depth of feeling. It is an ideal for when time is short, but a satisfying story is needed. This could be listened to as a standalone as explanations are given but the listener would get so much more understanding if the previous books were read or listened to. It was narrated well by Darcy, different voices were used to bring the characters to life .

Wow! Delicious! Surprising!

Yet again Mistress Vale have done it again, written a masterpiece which is now narrated by Darcy Stark whose voice is downright delicious! 😋
It was SO good to be back with Adam, Daphne and their family in the highland, and what a surprise which is waiting for both Adam and Daphne, which will either break them or make them stronger than ever.
I definitely recommend this audiobook ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Loved the whole series

Loved the whole series. I couldn't stop listening. But didnt enjoy The Damsel so much. Cassandra was a bit annoying. Loved the narrator, he was very good with all the voices and emotions of each character. Definitely one of my top 5 favourite narrators.
