Pandora Williams is Nocturne Falls' most successful real estate agent. And least successful witch. Her magic never has the intended outcome, but she's learned to live with that. Mostly. Yes, it sucks, but what can she do? Then a hot new neighbor shows up and suddenly her magic works. Very cool, but very suspect. Especially since he's a total non-believer.

Publisher's Summary
Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year. The tourists think it's all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.
Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.
Willa Iscove, fae jeweler, has her first stalker. Really, he's just one of her lovesick customers. The ring she crafted to help him find new love has backfired, making Willa the object of his affections. In a bid to rid herself of her amorous client, Willa makes a wish in the Nocturne Falls fountain using the piece of opal in her pocket and in doing so, unknowingly conscripts as her guardian the sexy gargoyle on duty.
Former Army Ranger and gargoyle Nick Hardwin has some serious suspicions about the pretty fae who just invoked the ancient pact for protection. Her kind have been at odds with his kind for ages. Now she wants his help? He's determined to figure out what she's up to. Which won't be a hardship considering how much fun she is to be around. And kiss.
But then her stalker turns out to be the tip of the iceberg and things go really wrong, really fast. When they're both kidnapped, Willa is forced to make a hard decision. The life of her family or the freedom of the man she's fallen for?

This is a Must Read Series!
Nocturne Falls is one of the most magical, and enchanting romances I've listen to in a long time. The stories are light, funny, and have some sexy, and interesting paranormal creatures. In The Gargoyle Gets His Girl, you can feel the attraction between Nick and Willa, which will have you smiling and blushing even with sex being "closed door."
These stories are well rounded, with a captivating plot, and great character development but it's Kristen's creativity that makes this series awesome, especially the town, Nocturne Falls, and it's "residences." With each new story, Nocturne Falls becomes more interesting, and you learn something new like the "Red, White, and Boo" Fourth of July celebration, and each "supernatural" has their own special abilities and weakness. In this story, we learn more about Willa's jewelry making abilities, and how she uses her Fae magic to work with the metals. These are the types of stories you can listen over and over, and hear something new each time.
Kristen also adds lots of little details that give each story a realistic feel. Some of the little details she provides in this story, are when she is describing Nick preparing for the picnic with Willa, and how he ensures he has all the items someone would actually think of to bring to a picnic, or when he buys a beer as a "thank you" for a fellow military veteran for watching his stuff. You can tell by all the details used to describe the cat's behavior, and how Willa and Nick take care of the cat, Kristen is a cat lover.
B.J. Harrison performance was awesome. The voices for many of the characters have been consistent throughout the series, and are easily identified. His performance really brings the stories to life, and makes it more enjoyable.
I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves an enchanting romance that is both light and funny. You cannot go wrong with this series!

Surprisingly very good
I wasn't expecting to like this book as much as I did. To be honest, a lot of authors fall into the same patterns and I expected this book to follow that pattern. This book captured me and I really enjoyed it. The main character is someone I could see hanging out with while drinking some tea. I would recommend this book as lighthearted fun and an enjoyable romance.

I adore this series!
Do you yell at the TV during romantic comedys? Does every book you read have its conflict based on an amazingly obvious lack of communication? This book series will make all of that disappointment melt away. Releve in the common sense thoughts and dialog the Author brings to each mad cap adventure. Sigh with contentment when the hero/heroine behaves just like you would have in the situation. This book series is more relief that a tall ice tea on a hot Texas summer afternoon. Enjoy my fellow readers! I hope you find the refreshing difference as simulating as I have.

I really enjoy these cozy reads. They make me laugh and have some excitement in each story. B.J. Harrison does a wonderful job. He does a great job at changing everyone's voices and he does well at playing women and men. I wasn't sure about the series at first, but I just keep wanting to listen to the next one every time I finish one. I enjoy the banter and back forth between the characters.

Can't get enough of Nocturnal Falls
Would you consider the audio edition of The Gargoyle Gets His Girl to be better than the print version?
Have only experienced the audio version but am 100% positive that I would choose the audio any way. B.J. Harrison's narration brings the wonderful story to life from the different voices to his inflections and emotions of the characters. This team of author and narrator is perfect together. The whole world of Nocturnal Falls will be enjoyed by me for a long time as I plan to read all of the series many times. I am so glad that I happened across the first book in the series to get me started. I look forward to acquiring each and every book in the series as they become available.
What other book might you compare The Gargoyle Gets His Girl to and why?
The closest book I have read that is in the same league with this book (besides the first two in the series) is You Slay Me by Katie MacAlister narrated by Barbara Rosenblatt. That book is in my top ten list that I re-read on a regular basis as I will also with the Nocturnal Falls books. These books have all the elements that I love, romance, suspense, unforgetable characters, great narrations that bring each individual character to life, lots of fun, most of all-main characters who are wonderful people that you would love to meet. I get tired of books where the main female characters are whiny, weak and makes blatantly stupid choices, and male characters who are overly domineering and have to be tamed away from their brutish ways. In Kristen Painter's books, I love her characters right from the start.
Which character – as performed by B.J. Harrison – was your favorite?
B.J. Harrison is now my favorite male narrator. I am amazed at all the different voices he uses and how he brings out their personalities the way I think the author envisioned them. His main male characters are sexy with voices that make me melt. And the female voices sound like women with great personalities. In addition he gives them accents add to getting to know these characters. The secondary characters are also fabulous and bring out their good and bad personalities. I love the hillbillyish accents he gave to some in Book 2 of this series.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
This book, as with all of the Nocturnal Falls book, I love from cover to cover. That is a rare thing in many books, even ones that I truly love but play some parts faster or skip some to get to the 'best' parts when I re-read them. In this particular book the most moving parts were in the last quarter that had me on edge a bit. I don't want to put the details in because it would be a 'spoiler'. Just a hint, 'the test' was very tense to me.
Any additional comments?
To me these books are also about ignoring stereo-typical labels and prejudices. Like many readers I do enjoy steamy books too. But I also love the way that Kristen Painter lets us know, without explicit descriptions, the intimate parts in a way that we can use our own imagination. This series makes me wish I could go on vacation to Nocturnal Falls.

Best in Nocturn Falls Series
I'm a huge Molly Harper fan and started reading Painter's NF series as a way to get my super natural romance fix while waiting for another Harper book to come out. I'm not a fan of sex scenes, but love the snarky humor of Harper and her story lines. I haven't found anyone who quite has her humor, but Painter's plots are entertaining and imaginative. I love the idea of all of her characters living in the same town and somehow being connected. These are good quirky love stories. If you want a light read and like books by Molly Harper, I think you'd enjoy this series.

A Fun Paranormal Romance Tale.
I've been enchanted by this series. Kristen Painter has created a wonderful paranormal world as a backdrop for her cosy romance stories. The town of Nocturne Falls in Georgia is inspired. I love her writing style and find it very easy to read.
I enjoy all the characters that she creates and the variety of personalities that they exhibit. Each character has strengths that I admire but also have negative traits that they have to overcome before they can find their happy ever after.
The story in this book is not unique. However, I loved the journey Kristen took us on, with its twists and turns. How the relationship between Willa and Nick evolved and grew was beautiful and felt believable.
I downloaded the Audible version of this book and was impressed with B.J. Harrison's performance. The pace of his narration was just right. The emotions he portrayed during the different scenes felt credible. His character voices were not hugely different from one another. However, I enjoyed his vocal variances for the dialogue and was never confused to was speaking.
There is absolutely no offensive content within these pages - language, violence or sex. Therefore, I can recommend The Gargoyle Gets His Girl to lovers of charming, paranormal romance tales of any age. Especially those readers who enjoy a sprinkling of humour and a happily ever after ending.
There is a bonus chapter at the end of this narration for the next book in the Nocturne Falls series. I've already added it to my Audible wish list.

A great Supernatural Cozy Mystery
I just love every visit to Nocturne Falls because it always leaves me happy!
Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town where Halloween is celebrated 365 days a year. The tourists think it’s all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.
This book focuses on Nick, a Gargoyle who becomes one of the towns characters in order to oversee the town where some crimes have recently been reported and Willa the fae jeweller whose magical creations are far more than normal pieces of jewellery. They are magical works of art. Unfortunately Willa makes a ring for a rock troll who develops a stalkeresque fascination with willa.
Willa makes a wish at the town fountain where unknowingly, she binds the gargoyle to herself.
The title kind of gives the ending away but trust me when I say that this cozy supernatural mystery has a lot more to offer and I loved the journey. This is a wonderful book that is beautifully written!

Meh
I found the story to be slow paced and easy to predict what was going on next I did not like this book as much as the other books and feel like it was all a bit awkward and this all happened within a week I feel like if it was pasted a bit better and not (what it felt to me) being shoved down our throats this was not my favourite instalment to the series.

Quirky and fun
We’ve all read the synopsis so I won’t bore you with that. Suffice to say whether you read these books or listen to them, they always finish before the reader is ready to let go of the characters.
Each book is basically a romance with a suspenseful twist of its own. The plots aren’t predictable although they do run to a formula of their own.
If you want a nice read that will hold your interest to the last word, then buy and read these.

Oddly melancholy and happy
I enjoyed this more than I was expecting. I was expecting something more gloomy, and while there was a little bit of wallowing here and there it was balanced with just enough silly fun.
