The Beginning, book 1:

The gods have gotten bored, and humanity is the answer.

Charles earns the ultimate surprise one morning when he awakens to discover the world has ended, or rather the gods of old were bored and decided to redesign how it worked. Everyone else got a nice little message that showed up their vision; everyone else woke up when the gods decided to make their decision known. Only Charles gets cursed by the gods, and only Charles gets a visit from one as well. The Game of the Gods has begun and the monsters of old are returning to our world, and all it took was the death of half the world's population and counting.

The Death of Champions, book 2:

The gods have begun to change Earth, leaving humanity confused and desperate.

Charles and Alli have managed to survive the first week of the apocalypse; unfortunately for them, it isn't over yet. The changes to the world are still ongoing and new monsters are being born. For Charles the only thing that matters is finding his sister, but what happens after? The enemies of humanity are revealed and begin to unite under the banner of enemy gods.

Champions stand on both sides of the field and it is time for some to die.

awesome story

got lost listening to this book creating their new world in my head can't wait to listen to the next in the series

this is a dog lovers delight, the storey has a good pace it's a little predictable but too much somethings do still surprise you

Charles. World recreated. Sole magic teacher. God's playing DnD. Dog sidekick, love interest, family.

simply amazing i loved it

I loved every bit of it from the magic system to the apocalypse style setting can't wait for more!!!!

Life is a board game

I couldn't put it down. This spin on LitRpg kept me interested for the entire story.

Dancing Goblins, combustable trolls and Hot Girls

Let's face it, mankind has blown it. The wars, the politics, the division, the destruction of the planet are on an ever quickening pace toward becoming a dead earth. On top of all that, we are boring the shit out of the gods. Deciding to band together to use their power to get at least a little entertainment, they decide it's time for the humans to become their player characters. It's time for humans to remember the Gods.

I've read a few of these, "The world has become a fantasy RPG world" types and I've got to say, this is among the best. The world development, the magic progression, and character arcs, all done exceptionally well.

Ramon De Ocampo did a very good job on the narration. He has a wonderful amount of character diversity, and an excellent grasp of tension and tone.

A good book for sure!

An interesting world builder

I agree with the others that have commented on the dog. It was awesomeness. The only reason it took me so much time to listen was because work got in the way. Ready to start the next book.

surprisingly good. im very picky but this is worth reading. buy it and read it soon.

Alli made this book for me

This was good but for me it runs parallel with how the gods played with people and how our gov plays with us. The dog 🐕 made this book for me. quickly lost interest in book 2

Great 2 for one book set!

Always great to get 2 books for the price of one. There are plenty of travel across the country to find family stories but this one has a few twists & turns that others don't have. Really enjoyed the 2 books.
