Uncover Twelve Mindset Shifts That Will Transform Your Financial Future

As a therapist, Joyce Marter noticed an extraordinary trend: as her clients improved their mental health, they leveled up in other areas of their lives. They received raises, they got promotions, and some even started their own business. This epiphany led her to develop an insightful and ingenious process for releasing limiting habits and beliefs so you can begin your journey to freedom and prosperity.

Here, Joyce shares the culmination of her life’s work as the go-to expert on the “Psychology of Success”—a proven method to help you improve your financial well-being by focusing on your psychological and relational issues around money.

By working with The Financial Mindset Fix, you will learn how to:

• Recover from burnout, overwhelm, financial stress, and money anxiety

• Improve your mental health by practicing better self-care and accessing the support you need and deserve

• Change the way you think, feel, and behave with money to end self-limitation and self-sabotage and welcome far greater success

• Embrace your worth and set healthy boundaries in your financial relationships with others at home and at work

• Create a personal and professional vision for holistic success that includes work-life balance and tending to your dreams

• Use simple tools from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and narrative therapy to change your life personally, professionally, and financially

For anyone looking to step into a life of wealth and well-being, this is a welcome guide.

“In this wonderful new book, successful therapist Joyce Marter gently takes you by the hand and walks you down the path toward better mental health and abundant financial life. Her twelve unique mindsets will revolutionize your relationship with money and significantly improve the way you view yourself.”―Stephen M. R. Not quite there yet

I heard the interview with the author on Sounds True podcast and I immediately bought the book. I really wanted to like it. I believe the author has great intentions and I absolutely agree with the connection of our emotional and mental health and our finances. I just don’t feel that this book does a good job of helping you get to the root of your issues. Because it’s trying to cover both the financial side and psychological it ends up doing a very surface job at both. It should maybe pick one thing and go deeper on it.
Also, the narration is very stiff and slow which adds to the feeling of someone who is still not an expert at what they are doing. I am sure she will be in the future, and I will give other books a chance once she writes them but in the meantime this one is just a starter book.
Helpful if you are very very very new to both therapy and money.

A book that will change your life !

I'm in my 20's and really struggling in balancing my finances. When I got a job, I thought I'd be able to save money or be financially stable at this point. I remember back in my teenage years, I thought that by the age of 25 I'll have my own house, drive my own car, have a great career path, and even start my own business. But now that I reached this age, I still don't have those. Instead, I’m struggling to make ends meet and don't know which career path to take, dealing with mental health issues as I get anxious about my life. When I got to read this book, I started to realize that I'm lacking a lot of things. And yes, we're just human, but we cannot always say that. Instead, I have to take responsibility for my actions and need to step up my game. I started to feel that giving myself love will enable me to have the future that I'm dreaming of. Right now, I'm focusing on my health, writing journals, and have also started budgeting. I'm trying to live a life beyond my financial means. I know that this journey will be hard but with the knowledge that I learned from Joyce Marter wherein she shared her decades of experience, wisdom and all the resources she put together in this book, it will help in terms of mental health and financial wellness. Great kudos to her!

Holistic Program

"The Financial Mindset Fix" is a holistic program that covers a wide range of financial topics, from debt management to investing and wealth-building strategies. Joyce's ability to simplify complex concepts and make them relatable is a testament to her skill as a communicator. She shares her own experiences and struggles with money, making the listeners feel understood and less alone in their financial journey. Her personal story are powerful and serve as real-world examples of the transformative power of adjusting your financial mindset.

My only critique is that some of the exercises might feel a bit repetitive, but repetition can be beneficial in reinforcing positive changes in one's mindset.

In conclusion, "The Financial Mindset Fix" is a valuable resource for anyone looking to transform their financial life and establish a healthier relationship with money. It's a valuable resource for anyone seeking a sustainable and fulfilling approach to wealth and financial well-being. Highly recommended.

This book will make you feel like it was made for you!

This book takes a very hands-on approach to exploring the relationship between your mental health and money. I am a young adult and I’ve always viewed money as a point of stress, but this book has changed my way of thinking, creating a healthy relationship and building the confidence to form my financial future.

If you do the exercises and honestly reflect during the prompted journaling, it will be difficult not to see a change in the way you think. The author brings in plenty of examples too, which I found to be very helpful.

The author is a talented keynote speaker, so she did an excellent job narrating the book. Highly recommend!

Gateway to Financial Freedom

This is my first time listening to this audiobook. Joyce's voice is amiable, genuine, and efficient. I really enjoyed the storytelling and her style of writing. She did a great job, and I was captivated the entire time. I know sometimes we struggle to understand and manage our finances while taking care of ourselves, and I admit I'm currently at an inflection point in my life and in my career during which I'm reevaluating my relationship with money. But through listening to her book, I realized that financial and mental health are indeed linked. We really have to value our mental health because if it affects our ability to work or study, this might reduce our income. Poor finances often lead to stress and anxiety that can further impact finances. I also like the part where she emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach. The need is not just to provide support for our mental health but to look at ourselves as a whole person. The support should also consider our physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. It's going to take time and effort for me to improve my mindset, but I am feeling committed to this journey and inspired to take action, thanks to Joyce.

My Key to Financial Success

Marter's approach to financial wellness goes beyond mere budgeting and saving; it delves deep into the psychological aspects of money management, making it a truly comprehensive mental fitness program. What sets her apart is Marter's ability to blend her extensive background in psychology with practical financial advice. Her narration is clear, compassionate, and empathetic, making it accessible to listeners at all levels of financial literacy. Marter's emphasis on the importance of self-compassion in the journey towards financial well-being is refreshing. She encourages listeners to be kind to themselves, acknowledge past mistakes, and move forward with a growth-oriented mindset. Overall, this audio-book is for anyone looking to take control of their financial future. It is a mental fitness program that has the potential to transform our relationship with money and lead us toward a more abundant and fulfilling life. I can't recommend it enough.

Read this book if you want to learn about success!

This book is a must read/listen!!

I've read a lot of financial books and can say that this is by far my favorite. The real-life stories and tips Joyce Marter provids in this book are impactful. I especially love the worksheets to help us dig deep into the exercises.

As a counselor myself, I was thrilled to learn about this book and am impressed with the easy to understand concepts Joyce discussed. It is amazing that her decades worth of experience and expertise is now available world-wide. This is a book I would recommend not only to my own clients, but to anyone who wants to continue to learn how to take steps to improve their own lives.

As for the narration, I prefer books that are read by the author so this was a treat to listen to. Joyce's voice is pleasant, genuine, and professional. I sure hope she has another book available soon!

Holistic approach

Joyce Marter’s “The Financial Mindset Fix” is an actual consultation session for me. Joyce is a licensed psychotherapist and entrepreneur. That career combination says a lot on what she’s capable of. The book covered self-assessments and exercises and carefully defined mindsets one needs to focus on; it is systematic, based on tried and tested practices, holistic and can relate on a personal level (something I always look for in a book). Abundance is a process that is achievable and starts with the right mindset.

I thought I was doing okay financially by trying my best to spend wisely and live below my means, a practice ingrained in me since I was a child. At the same time, I was satisfied with how things were going but no big dreams of my own. Then, the pandemic hit. It was a period of uncertainty that led me to see that I am not yet self-sufficient in how limiting my behaviors were. Assessing myself with very specific questions and exercises on the 1st round was a little shocking, seeing where my baseline is. But with the guidelines set in this book, the constant reminder and push from Joyce, my understanding is getting clearer. It was a humbling experience. One thing that stuck with me the most, was how bad I am with self-love, something that I started working on while listening to this book, still a long way but I’m proud to say I already got my first steps.

I consider this as one of the books I would constantly go back to. In fact, I’m already starting my 2nd round listening to the audiobook. And I will share this. It’s something most people around me need. Looking forward to my own journey (process) towards more positivity, overall good health, and abundance. A big thanks to Joyce Marter for doing her best to share her knowledge and empathy to the world!

Solid, practical practices

The author made herself vulnerable and transparent which unfolded through the course of the book. You learn, step by step, how to be more mindful, financially, and in so many other areas of life. This isn’t just the typical advice but delves deeper into what is creating the financial, and other, barriers while providing real life, realistic “homework “ that helps to break down the barriers. The author shares her personal experiences throughout, her struggles and how she has used these methods personally. I highly recommend this book! It was like sitting with a friend and peeling back the layers.
