A healer and a dragon queen. They're meant for each other - and for so much more. A baby, abandoned on a harsh slope to die. Self-confident, and beloved, but there has always been a hole inside her that nothing can fill. Neither of them is ready for what awaits - but the Star doesn't wait for those it calls to be ready.

The ancient prophecy speaks of the five, those who will come to save all of dragonkind. Like most prophecies, it leaves out a lot of the important details. The very ordinary elf girl who runs for the hills - and gets lost in a forest instead. The dragon egg, precariously perched high in a tree on a dark winter's night. And what happens when egg meets girl.

Story
Shadowvale isn’t your typical small town America. The sun never shines, the gates decide who enters, magic abounds, and every resident bears some kind of curse. Vampire Constantin Thibodeaux was cured of his sun "allergy" when he moved to Shadowvale. Now he runs the local bookstore, which is really just a sideline to filling his own library. Books, unlike people, are far more forgiving of his prickly nature. But he doesn’t care if people don’t like him. He is who he is. And he’s happy. Well, he’s content. Okay, he’s…fine.

Fantastic work by two wonderful authors!
Erin moon is one of my favorite narrators she uses her voice to make a story itself. I have even heard her read some stories that have nothing to them but are done wonderfully simply because she is reading them.
The authors of this book are amazing. One of them is a long time author and the mother to the younger one. You can definitely see where her mother allowed her imagination to grow into the characters. For the mother stability in writing and experience made them more than what they were. This is well worth the credit or the money for the reading.
